I-280 Trench Project

Bowling Green:  ODOT District Two announces the following update to the I-280 Trench Project. Updates are highlighted in bold and underlined. 5. Interstate 280: Trench Project (*Updated*)

Lucas County (493-08): Front and Summit streets will be realigned to intersect with the Craig Bridge. Work includes filling the existing I-280 trench and reconnecting city streets in Toledo.

North Erie Street between Bush Street and Ash Street is open to two-way traffic. The temporary tie-in to Summit Street from the Craig Bridge is open. Sidewalks on the Craig Bridge are closed to pedestrian traffic until fall 2009.

Through June 2009, Ontario Street and Michigan Street, between Buckeye Street and Ash Street, are closed for structure removal and roadway replacement. Detour: Buckeye Street; Ash Street; Erie Street; Buffalo Street.

Through summer 2010, Front Street, between Dearborn Avenue and the ramp to northbound I-280, is restriped for single lane bidirectional traffic. The ramp from Front Street to northbound Craig Bridge (SR 65) and the ramps from southbound Craig Bridge (SR 65) to eastbound and westbound Front Street are closed. Craig Bridge access: southbound I-280; Navarre Avenue; northbound I-280.

On Saturday, February 14, from 7am until 4pm, Summit Street will be closed in both directions from Galena Street to the ramp from Summit Street to southbound Craig Bridge for bridge removal. Detour: Lagrange Street; Greenbelt Parkway. Access from Summit Street (from downtown) to southbound Craig Bridge will be maintained. Access from northbound Craig Bridge westbound Summit Street will also be maintained.

Project complete: November 2010. All work is weather permitting.
