ODOT District Two Announces Front

Street Ribbon Cutting

Major Construction along Front Street complete in time for the Historic Birmingham Festival

BOWLING GREEN (August 09, 2010) The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District Two announces a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the realignment of Front Street to four lanes.

Reconstructing Front and Summit streets is the final piece of construction related to the VGCS.  While the landmark structure has been open to traffic since 2007, ODOT continues its commitment to nearby neighborhoods to rebuild major streets, replace the old expressway interchanges and improve the corridor with landscaped open areas and multi-purpose recreational trails.  A ceremony will be held to mark the substantial completion of work on Front Street in time for the neighborhood festival in Birmingham.  Construction on this project continues in the area near Tribute Park and in North Toledo through November.
