I-75/Central Avenue and I-475/Auburn Avenue Update
Bowling Green: ODOT District Two announces the following update to I-75/Central Avenue and I-475/Auburn Avenue Bridge Projects in Lucas County. Updates are highlighted in bold and underlined.
3. Interstate 75/Central Avenue: Bridge Replacement
Lucas County (340-08): Replacement of three bridges at Central Avenue, Douglas Road and Auburn Avenue for the widening of I-475/I-75. Intermittent shoulder closures are possible on I-75 in both directions at the Central Avenue bridge.
The Central Avenue bridge over I-75 is closed to traffic and pedestrians through Wednesday, September 2. The Central Avenue detour is Upton Avenue; Monroe Street; Detroit Avenue; Central Avenue. North Cove Boulevard and Jeep Parkway will remain closed through September.
ODOT will announce the opening of the Central Avenue bridge, expected between the hours of 10am and noon on Wednesday, September 2. At this time, only the Central Avenue bridge will open. North Cove Boulevard, Jeep Parkway and the four interchange ramps listed below will remain closed through September for finish work.
The four interchange ramps from Willys Parkway and North Cove Boulevard to I-75 and I-475 are closed through September 2009:
The ramp from northbound I-75 to Jeep Parkway/Willys Parkway (Exit 205A) is closed. Detour: Berdan Avenue (Exit 205B); Jeep Parkway.
The ramp from eastbound I-475 to Jeep Parkway/Willys Parkway (Exit 205A) is closed. Detour: I-75, Berdan Avenue exit (Exit 205B); Jeep Parkway.
The ramp from Jeep Parkway/Willys Parkway to southbound I-75 is closed. Detour: North Cove Boulevard; Central Avenue; Kelly Avenue; eastbound I-475.
The ramp from North Cove Boulevard to westbound I-475 is closed. Detour: Central Avenue; Upton Avenue.
Additionally, upon the opening of the Central Avenue bridge, the Auburn Avenue bridge over I-475 will be closed to traffic and pedestrians through October 2010. Auburn Avenue detour: Central Avenue; Upton Avenue; Monroe Street.
Three bridge project complete: October 2010. All work is weather permitting.
