Notice of I-280 "Trench Project" Public Meetings
Bowling Green: The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), District Two announces two public meetings for the Trench project in Lucas County. The purpose of these meetings will be for ODOT to inform the public about the upcoming the I-280 "Trench" project below the Veterans’ Glass City Skyway.
North Side "Trench Project" Public Meeting
Monday, October 20, 2008, Doors open at 6pm.
Waite-Brand Auditorium – 1530 N. Superior Street, Toledo
East Side "Trench Project" Public Meeting
Wednesday, October 22, 2008, Doors open at 6pm.
St Charles Mercy Hospital – Auditorium - 2600 Navarre Ave. Oregon, Ohio
Representatives from the Ohio Department of Transportation, along with members of the Veterans’ Glass City Skyway Tribute Committee will be present to explain the project and answer questions. A formal presentation will take place at each location at 6:30p.m.
The "Trench Project" is the final venture for the landmark Veterans’ Glass City Skyway (VGCS) bridge. During construction, Front St. and Summit St. will be realigned to intersect with the Craig Bridge. Work includes reconnecting north Toledo neighborhoods, extension of current bike path network and filling the former I-280 alignment. Interested citizens, public officials and special interest groups are invited to attend this meeting to receive a description of the project, a preview of the construction schedule and to hear from the VGCS Tribute Committee.
