Central Avenue Interchange Project
BOWLING GREEN (Wednesday, June 29, 2016) - The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District Two announces the following update to the Central Avenue interchange project in Lucas County. Updates are highlighted in bold and underlined:
U.S. Route 20: Central Avenue Interchange Project
Lucas County (210-15): Effective Monday, June 27, through Friday, July 1, nightly from 10pm to 5am, the ramp from southbound I-475 to Central Avenue will be closed for bridge work. Detour: SR 2 (Exit 8A); northbound I-475.
Effective Thursday, June 30, at 9pm, through Friday, July 1, at 6am, Fairbanks Avenue, south of Central Avenue will be closed for utility work. Detour: Nukar Drive; Fantasy Drive.
Through November, Central Avenue, between McCord Road and Van Fleet Parkway, is reduced to one lane. 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place within the work zone.
Through December, southbound US 23 traffic is reduced to one lane from the I-475/US 23 split in Sylvania to Central Avenue. Through September 2017, overnight from 9pm until 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475/US 23 between Dorr Street and N. Holland Sylvania Road. 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place within the work zone. Project complete: September 2017. All work is weather permitting.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
