Hallett Avenue Railroad Grade Separation

 Project Informational Meeting

BOWLING GREEN - Monday, April 04, 2011– The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District Two will host an informational meeting about this year’s construction on the Hallett Avenue Railroad Grade Separation project.

The purpose of the meeting will be for ODOT to inform the general public about the upcoming construction on Hallett Avenue, from West Ridge Drive to Church Street.

WHAT:   Hallett Avenue Railroad Grade Separation Project Informational Meeting

WHEN:   Thursday, April 7, at 7 p.m.

WHERE: Swanton Public Library, 305 Chestnut Street, Swanton, OH

Representatives from ODOT will be present to explain the project and answer questions. A formal presentation will be delivered at the beginning of the meeting.

For this project, a bridge will be constructed to carry Hallett Avenue over the existing Norfolk Southern Railroad.

This project will eliminate the at-grade intersection and allow both rail and roadway traffic to flow consistently and safely. Increased traffic on Ohio’s major rail lines can create substantial delays at grade crossings and can create added safety hazards, impact response times for emergency services, and decrease mobility for school buses, freight trucks and motorists.
