Interstate 475/U.S. Route 23 Interchange Upgrade
BOWLING GREEN (Wednesday, August 19, 2015) - The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District Two announces the following update to the I-475/US 23 interchange upgrade project. Work has been postponed due to impending weather. Updates are highlighted in bold and underlined:
Interstate 475/U.S. Route 23: Interchange Upgrade
Lucas County (184-14 & 210-15): The following restrictions will take place overnight Thursday, August 20 at 7pm, through Friday, August 21 at 6am for traffic pattern change.
On Thursday, August 20 at 7pm, through Friday, August 21 at 6am, the ramp from westbound I-475 to southbound US 23 will be closed for barrier wall relocation. Detour: northbound US 23; Monroe Street/SR 51 (Exit 234).
On Thursday, August 20, from 9pm until Friday, August 21 at 1am, the ramp from southbound US 23 to eastbound I-475 will be closed. Detour: Central Avenue (Exit 13); northbound I-475/US23; eastbound I-475.
On Friday, August 21, at 1am, through December, the ramp from southbound US 23 to Central Avenue will be closed. Detour: southbound I-475/US23; Airport Highway (Exit 8A).
* By Friday, August 21 at 6am, southbound US 23 will be placed onto the new traffic configuration at I-475/US 23 split near Sylvania. Additionally at this time, southbound US 23 traffic will be reduced to one lane at the ramp from southbound US 23 to eastbound I-475. Motorists are advised of major changes in traffic patterns in this work zone.*
Overnight lane restrictions are possible at the interchange of I-475/US 23 from Central Avenue to N. Holland Sylvania Road. Through October, lane restrictions are possible on Blossman Road, between Moffet Road and Plainview Drive for bridge work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: December. All work is weather permitting.
