Northwest Ohio
projects awarded TRAC funding
Projects in Lucas,
Hancock counties move forward
BOWLING
GREEN, Ohio - (Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019) Two
projects in northwest Ohio are moving forward after the Transportation
Review Advisory Committee (TRAC) recently awarded funding to several
projects.
The
Ohio Department of Transportation's (ODOT) Transportation Review Advisory Council,
known as TRAC, approved the final funding list when it met
recently in Columbus. ODOT will invest an additional $398 million
into major-new projects over the next four years. This investment is
a direct result of the transportation budget approved by the Ohio General
Assembly and signed into law by Gov. Mike DeWine last April.
The
projects awarded funding in northwest Ohio are located in Lucas and
Hancock counties:
Construction of a new interchange at Interstate 475
and U.S. Route 20A, Toledo
- The project was awarded
$79 million in TRAC funding.
- Local funding for the
project is provided from TMACOG (Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of
Governments) Lucas County, city of Maumee, Toledo/Lucas County Port
Authority, Lucas County Transportation Improvement District,
Monclova Township, and the local Joint Economic Development Zone
(JEDZ).
- Construction of the
project is tentatively scheduled for 2022 at a cost of $107 million.
“The 20A interchange
has been talked about for 20 years," said Pat McColley, deputy
director for ODOT District 2. "The significant contributions from
our local partners made this funding application extremely attractive to
TRAC," he said.
.
Improvement of the interchange of Interstate 75 at county
Road 99, north of Findlay
- A project to improve the
interchange was awarded $400,000 to allow the project to move
forward in the development phase.
- Assessment of
intersections along the county Road 99 corridor between Technology
Drive and Main Street in Findlay are also included in the project.
- The project, which is
being developed with the partnership of the city of Findlay, is
tentatively scheduled for construction in 2023.
