ODOT District Two Prepares for Possible Freezing Rain and Flooding
BOWLING GREEN (Tuesday, December 13, 2011) The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District Two is preparing for possible freezing rain followed by potential flooding over the next 24 hours.
ODOT staff throughout Northwest Ohio will be monitoring conditions for the chance of mixed precipitation overnight followed by the probability for moderate to heavy rainfall on Wednesday.
“Crews are continuously addressing flood-related issues as they closely monitor the next storm for potential winter-related driving hazards and the possibility for additional flooding,” said ODOT District Two Deputy Director Todd Audet.
The ODOT workforce is prepared to treat Ohio roadways for wintery weather.  ODOT county garages are also gathering high-water signs and barricades for flooding along state and federal routes and adjacent right-of-way.
While driving in Northwest Ohio, ODOT reminds motorists in ice and snow take it slow AND if there is high water, turn around don’t drown.
