ODOT District Two Weekly Construction Update

In observance of Thanksgiving Day, the ODOT District Two Weekly Construction Update has been issued today. ODOT reminds motorists to drive safely over the holiday weekend. Although permanent work zone restrictions will remain in place, there will be no additional lane closures.
 
Lucas/Wood County
 
1. Interstate 75/475: Interchange Upgrade
Lucas County (281-10): Upgrade the I-75/I-475 interchange, widen I-475 from Rushland Avenue to I-75, and construct a new interchange at ProMedica Parkway.
 
INTERSTATE RESTRICTIONS
Through fall of 2011, the right lane in both directions of I-475, between Monroe Street and I-75, is restricted. Additional lane restrictions are possible, overnight from 7pm to 6am, on I-475 in both directions from Rushland Avenue to I-75 and on I-75 in both directions from Detroit Avenue to Berdan Avenue.
 
RAMP RESTRICTIONS
·         Through December, the ramp from Douglas Road to eastbound I-475 is closed. Detour: Monroe Street; Secor Road; I-475.
·         Through December the ramp from westbound I-475 to Douglas Road is closed. Detour: Secor Road (Exit 17); Monroe Street.
·         Through November 2012, the ramp from Monroe Street to eastbound I-475 is closed. Detour: Secor Road; eastbound I-475.
·         Through fall of 2012, the ramp from North Cove Boulevard to westbound I-475 is closed. Detour: Central Avenue; Upton Avenue; westbound I-475.
·         Through fall of 2012, the ramp from Upton/Kelley Avenue to eastbound I-475 is closed. Detour: Central Avenue; Jeep Parkway; I-75. The ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 is scheduled to open by spring 2012.
·         Through fall of 2012, the ramp from eastbound I-475 to Jeep Parkway is closed. Detour: northbound I-75; Berdan Avenue (Exit 205B); Jeep Parkway.
 
CITY STREET TRAFFIC
·         Through fall of 2011, lane restrictions are possible on Central Avenue at Promedica Parkway for intersection improvement.
·         Through November, Giant Street, between Upton Avenue and Bigelow Street, is closed for sewer relocation. Suggested alternate route: Jackman Road.
·         Through November 2012, Upton Avenue, between Georgia Avenue and Central Avenue and Central Avenue, between Upton Avenue and Jackman Road are reduced to one lane in each direction.
·         Through December 2012, Sherbrooke Road, between Groveland Road and Marlow Road, is closed. Detour: Monroe Street; Douglas Road; Berdan Avenue.
 
Project complete: Fall 2013. All work is weather permitting.

2. Interstate 75: Drainage & Ramp Work *UPDATE*
Lucas County:
Through Sunday, November 27, the ramp from Miami Street to southbound I-75 is closed for drainage and ramp work. Detour: northbound I-75; Collingwood Boulevard (Exit 201A); Erie Street; southbound I-75. Beginning Monday, November 28 through Sunday, December 4, the ramp from eastbound Miami Street to northbound I-75 will be closed for pavement repair. Detour: southbound I-75; Wales Road (Exit 198); northbound I-75. Additionally at this time, the ramp from southbound I-75 to eastbound Miami Street will be closed for pavement repair. Detour: southbound I-75; Wales Road (Exit 198); northbound I-75. All work is weather permitting.
 
3. Interstate 475/Salisbury Road-Dussel Drive: Interchange Reconstruction/Major Widening
Lucas County (104-09):
Through November, nightly from 8pm to 6am, intermittent lane and shoulder restrictions are possible on I-475 at the Salisbury Road/Dussel Drive bridge. Through November, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on Salisbury Road/Dussel Drive, between Manley Road and Osage Drive, for finish work. Access to all businesses is maintained. Lane restrictions in this area will be removed over the holiday weekend. Project complete: November 2011. All work is weather permitting.
 
4. Interstate 280/Wheeling Street: Widening *UPDATE*
Lucas County (1040-10): Widening of Wheeling Street from Navarre Avenue (SR 2) to Pickle Road, including the bridge over I-280. Through today at approximately 5:30pm, intermittent lane and shoulder restrictions are possible on I-280 at Wheeling Street for bridge work. Lane widths are restricted to 11 feet.
 
Through today at approximately 5:30pm, the ramp from Wheeling Street to southbound I-280 is closed. Detour: Wheeling Street; Woodville Road (SR 51); I-280.
 
Through today at approximately 5:30pm, the ramp from northbound I-280 to Wheeling Street is closed. Detour: I-280; Greenbelt Parkway (Exit 11); I-280; Navarre Avenue (Exit 7).
 
Through today at approximately 5:30pm, Wheeling Street, between Munding Drive and Dearborn Avenue, is closed for bridge replacement. Detour: Woodville Road (SR 51); I-280; Greenbelt Parkway (Exit 11); I-280; Navarre Avenue (Exit 7). Today at approximately 5:30pm, Dearborn Avenue will resume one-way traffic.
 
Through today at approximately 5:30pm, Wheeling Street, between I-280 and Navarre Avenue, is reduced to one lane in both directions. Project complete: May 2012. All work is weather permitting.
 
5. U.S. Route 24: New Highway Construction
Lucas County (8015-09): Construction of a newly aligned four-lane divided highway from Hertzfeld Road to the existing U.S. 24 northeast of Waterville. Work includes construction of an interchange at SR 64 and a partial interchange at the existing U.S. 24. Motorists may encounter construction vehicles working near the new alignment throughout the project. Through July 2012, U.S. 24, between Dutch Road and Fallen Timbers Lane, is reduced to one lane in both directions. Project complete: September 2012. All work is weather permitting.
 
6. U.S. Route 24: New Highway Construction
Lucas and Henry Counties (201-09): Construction of a newly aligned four-lane divided highway from Henry County Road 4A to Hertzfeld Road. Work includes construction of an interchange at SR 295 and the construction of bridges at CR 3, CR 109 and Jeffers Road. Motorists may encounter construction vehicles working near the new alignment throughout the project.
 
The following roads are closed for overpass construction:
·         Through spring of 2012, Providence-Neapolis-Swanton Road, between Box Road and U.S. 24. Detour: Neowash Road; Jeffers Road; U.S. 24.
·         Through spring of 2012, Patton Road, between Providence-Neapolis-Swanton Road and Manore Road. Detour: U.S. 24; Jeffers Road.
 
Project complete: November 2012. All work is weather permitting.

7. State Route 25: BG N. Main Street Widening Project
*LANE RESTRICTIONS BEGIN MONDAY*
Wood County (136-11):
Through Monday, November 28, intermittent lane restrictions are possible in both directions of N. Main Street, between Dill Street and Newton Road for utility work. Lane restrictions in this area will be removed over the holiday weekend. Beginning Monday, November 28, through summer of 2012, N. Main Street (SR 25), between Dill Street and Newton Road, will be reduced to one lane in both directions for utility work. A designated center left-turn lane will be maintained. Additionally, on Monday, November 28, delays are possible while crews install traffic control devices in the work zone.  Access to all businesses will be maintained. Project complete: August 2013. All work is weather permitting.

8. State Route 25: Intersection Widening
Wood County (248-11):
Through December, intermittent lane and shoulder restrictions are possible in both directions of SR 25 at Bishop Road for intersection widening. Lane restrictions in this area will be removed over the holiday weekend. Project complete: December 2011. All work is weather permitting.

9. State Route 65: Superior Street: Lighting
Wood County (1064-10):
Through December, weekdays from 7am to 5pm, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on Superior Street between Elm Street and Bacon Street in the City of Rossford for lighting improvements. Lane restrictions in this area will be removed over the holiday weekend. Project complete: December 2011. All work is weather permitting.
 
Fulton/Henry/Williams County
 
10. Hallett Avenue: Railroad Grade Separation
Fulton & Lucas Counties (1069-10): Through November 2012, Hallett Avenue, between Church Street and Garfield Avenue, is closed for construction of the overpass. Detour: Airport Highway; SR 64; Shaffer Road (CR J). Through 2011, West Ridge Drive is closed for reconstruction. Local access will be maintained on a temporary road. Project complete: Summer 2013. All work is weather permitting.

11. U.S. Route 24: New Highway Construction
Henry County (152-08):
Construction of a newly aligned four-lane divided highway from the current U.S. 24 east of Napoleon to Henry County Road 4A. Work includes construction of an interchange at SR 109 and an overpass at CR 4A. Construction vehicles will enter and exit using the current U.S. 24, SR 109 and CR 4A.
 
Through May 2012, TR 10 at U.S. 24 is closed for overpass construction. Motorists on U.S. 24 should be aware of traffic shifts in this area. The detour for SR 424 to eastbound U.S. 24 is southbound U.S. 6; eastbound SR 110; northbound SR 109; U.S. 24. The detour for westbound U.S. 24 to TR 10/SR 424 is westbound U.S. 24; westbound U.S. 6/24; Industrial Drive (Exit 41); eastbound U.S. 6/24; TR10/SR 424. Project complete: November 2011. All work is weather permitting.
 
12. U.S. Route 127: Resurfacing *PROJECT COMPLETE*
Williams County (288-11):
The resurfacing project on U.S. 127 between CR C and the Williams/Defiance County Line is complete.
 
13. State Route 34: Resurfacing and Bridge Repair
Williams County (205-11): Through November, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 34 between SR 191 and the Williams/Henry County line for resurfacing. Lane restrictions in this area will be removed over the holiday weekend. Project complete: November 2011. All work is weather permitting.
 
14. State Route 191: Resurfacing
Williams County (458-11):
Through November, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 191 between U.S. 6 and SR 34 for pavement repair. Lane restrictions in this area will be removed over the holiday weekend. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. All work is weather permitting.
 
15. Various Routes: Sign Replacement *PROJECT COMPLETE*
Fulton, Henry & Williams Counties (312-11):  The sign replacement project in Williams, Fulton and Henry Counties is complete.
 
Ottawa/Sandusky/Seneca County
 
16. State Route 53/163: Intersection Upgrade and Resurfacing
Ottawa County (278-11):
Through May 2012, expect lane restrictions at the intersection of SR 53 and SR 163 for intersection upgrade. Access to businesses will be maintained. Through November, expect intermittent lane restrictions in both directions of SR 53 from SR 163 to Water Street for resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete in May 2012. All work is weather permitting.
 
17. State Route 357: Resurfacing and Sidewalk Ramp Installation *UPDATE*
Ottawa County (169-11): Through December, expect lane restrictions along SR 357 on South Bass Island for resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Lane restrictions in this area will be removed over the holiday weekend. Project complete: December 2011. All work is weather permitting.
 
18. U.S. Route 6: Slide Repair *UPDATE*
Sandusky County (324-11): Through November, intermittent shoulder restrictions are possible on westbound U.S. 6, just west of Christy Road, for finish work. Lane restrictions in this area will be removed over the holiday weekend. Project complete: November 2011. All work is weather permitting.
 
19. U.S. Route 20: Pavement Rehabilitation *UPDATE*
Sandusky County (3003-11):
Resurfacing on U.S. 20 between CR 32 and SR 51is complete. Work will resume in spring of 2012. Project complete: November 2012.
 
District Wide

20. Various Routes: Guardrail Maintenance
District Wide (479-10): Through December, nightly from 8pm to 6am, intermittent lane restrictions are possible district wide for guardrail maintenance. Lane restrictions in this area will be removed over the holiday weekend. Project complete: December 2011. All work is weather permitting.
 
21. Various Routes: Electrical Maintenance
District Wide (526-10): Through December, nightly from 8pm to 6am, intermittent lane restrictions are possible district wide for electrical maintenance. Lane restrictions in this area will be removed over the holiday weekend. Project complete: December 2011. All work is weather permitting.
