ODOT District Two Winter Weather Update
BOWLING GREEN (Tuesday, January 12, 2016) – Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District Two continue to plow and treat wintery roads tonight as the wind is causing drifting in rural areas.
Although traffic on Interstates 75, 280 and 475 is running at posted speeds, conditions on rural routes continue to be impacted by drifting snow.
As windy conditions are forecasted to continue through the overnight into the morning hours, ODOT advises drivers to use caution, especially in rural areas where drifting is still an issue.
Below is a video link from one of our plow trucks plowing drifts on SR 18 in Wood County today.
Crews will continue twelve hour shifts through Wednesday and possibly into Thursday as light snow remains in the forecast. Drivers have been on twelve hour shifts since early Sunday morning.
ODOT will have over 100 plow trucks treating the roadways overnight Tuesday and Wednesday.
For the morning commute, ODOT remind drivers to use caution and drive to the conditions of the road.
Remove snow from all windows, mirrors and lights.
Drive well below the posted speed limit and leave plenty of room between cars.
