ODOT to Repave State Route 163 and Install Handicap Ramps Adjacent to Lake Point Park

BOWLING GREEN (Monday, April 04, 2011) –The Ohio Department of Transportation, (ODOT) proposes to resurface State Route 163 from the Village of Marblehead corporation line near Popular Street, to South Alexander Pike, and to install sidewalk handicap ramps to insure compliance with  Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.  Work will also include the replacement of a small culvert and replacing 40 feet of an existing (Lake Erie) seawall adjacent to Lake Point Park.

The project is scheduled to begin in the spring/summer of 2012 and be completed by late fall 2012, possibly suspending any major work during the highlight of the 2012 summer tourist season.

Opportunity for Public Comment: Due to the need to acquire a small amount of permanent highway easements for construction activity for the ADA handicap ramps and sidewalk sections at Lake Point Park, and that Lake Point Park has unrestricted public recreational access, ODOT is required give the opportunity for public comment in order to proceed forward with roadway improvements.
