ODOT Upgrades State Route 53 Corridor in Seneca County
BOWLING GREEN (May 21, 2012) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District Two announces the start of additional safety improvements along State Route 53 south of Tiffin in Seneca County.
This week, ODOT will upgrade signs along State Route 53 between Tiffin and McCutchenville. Some of the locations include the intersections of SR 53 and TR-26, TR 54, TR 92, CR 90, CR 52 and CR 14.
The improvements are a direct result of concerns from local officials and residents voiced at two community meetings in November 2011 and January of this year.
“We’ve heard and explored the concerns of this community. These countermeasures are a direct result of research in the area and public input,” said Michael Stormer, ODOT District Two Planning Engineer.
ODOT will also begin short-term and long term drainage improvements in this corridor this year. ODOT and community members are in the process of seeking funding for additional long term improvements to State Route 53 south of Tiffin.
