State Route 199 at Eckel Junction/Scheider Road in
BOWLING GREEN (Monday, December 15, 2014) – The
Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District Two today announces the preferred
short-term and long-term safety countermeasures at the intersection of State
Route 199 and Eckel Junction/Scheider Road in Wood County.
The need for
improvements at this intersection results from safety concerns by the City of
Perrysburg and Perrysburg Township. ODOT
has been working with both the City of Perrysburg and Perrysburg Township for over
two years to study and determine the improvements needed at this
As a result of this
combined effort ODOT, the City of Perrysburg and Perrysburg Township will begin
planned improvements at this intersection.
The work will be completed in three phases beginning in January 2015.
Close Scheider Road at SR-199 to
traffic. This is scheduled to take place
by January 15, 2015.
Install signage to prohibit
left-turns from westbound Eckel Junction Road to SR 199. This is scheduled to take place by January
Install a temporary drive from SR
199 to the new soccer field parking lot. This is scheduled to occur by March 2015.
Perrysburg Township will lead an
effort to extend Carronade Boulevard to SR 199.
This is scheduled to take place by September 2015.
Phase Three (no timeframe, funding will be pursued)
Construct a roundabout at the
intersection of SR 199 and the extended Carronade Boulevard.
Close Eckel Junction Road east of
SR 199 to traffic.
