WEEKLY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

JUNE 13 – JUNE 20 

Interstate 75 Weekend Closure Monroe County, Michigan

A total freeway closure is planned for Interstate 75 in northern Monroe County, in the state of Michigan, Friday, June 13, at 8pm until Monday, June 16, at 5am.  For additional information on this project and other Michigan State construction projects go to: http://www.michigan.gov/drive. 

Lucas/Wood County          

1.  Interstate 75: Resurfacing Project from I-280 to Ohio/Michigan Border

Lucas County (6006-07):  Expect intermittent lane and ramp closures in both directions of I-75 from I-280 to the Michigan line for pavement resurfacing. Delays are possible.  Project complete: August 2008.  All work is weather permitting.

Lane Closures:  WEEKEND WORK: Beginning Friday, June 13, at 10pm until Monday, June 16, at 6am, northbound I-280 from Stickney Avenue to the Ottawa River interchange will be restricted to one lane for paving.

Daily from 6am until 8pm, motorists can expect single lane closures in both directions of I-75 from the Ohio/Michigan border to I-280.  Evenings from 8pm to 6am, motorists can expect I-75 to be restricted to one lane in both directions from Ohio/Michigan border to I-280. 

Ramp Closures:  Beginning Friday, June 13 at 10pm until Sunday, June 15 at 6am, the ramp from northbound I-75 to southbound I-280 will be closed. Detour: Alexis Road (SR 184).  In addition, through Monday, June 16, at 7pm, the ramp from northbound I-75 to Ottawa River Road (Exit 209) and the ramp from Ottawa River Road at Suder Avenue to southbound I-75, will be closed for pavement repairs.  Detour: I-75; Alexis Road; Suder Avenue. 

2.  Interstate 75:  Bridge Repair

Lucas County (543-07):  Intermittent overnight lane closures are possible from 8pm until 6am on I-75 at the Lincoln Avenue Bridge.  Lincoln Avenue at I-75 is closed to vehicles and pedestrians until September for bridge repair.  Alternate route: Monroe Street to Lawrence Avenue.  In addition, beginning Thursday, June 12 until Tuesday, June 17, nightly from 8pm until 6am, the Lawrence Avenue ramp to southbound I-75 will experience intermittent closures.  No ramp work will be performed Saturday, June 14, through Sunday, June 15. Project complete: September 2008.  All work is weather permitting.

3.  Interstate 75: Pavement Cleaning

Lucas County:  Beginning Sunday, June 15, through Thursday, June 19, overnight from 10pm until 4am, expect intermittent lane closures in both directions of I-75 from Stickney Avenue to Detroit Avenue for pavement cleaning.  All work is weather permitting.

4.  Interstate 75:  Resurfacing

Wood County (125-08):  Motorists can expect lane restrictions from 8pm until 6am overnight Sunday through Friday on I-75 in both directions from North Baltimore to SR 25 in Cygnet for pavement repairs.  Project complete: October 2008.  All work is weather permitting.

5.  Interstate 75:  Pavement Repair

Wood County:  On Thursday, June 12, motorists can expect intermittent lane restrictions from 9am until 3pm on I-75 southbound north of Poe Road in Wood County for pavement repair.  All work is weather permitting.

6.  Interstate 280: Veterans’ Glass City Skyway (VGCS) Main Span

Lucas County (493-01):  Bridge over the Maumee River; widen to six lanes, modifying interchanges at Front Street and Greenbelt Parkway.  Motorists can expect intermittent single lane and shoulder closures for finishing activities on the VGCS until October 2008.  All work is weather permitting. 

7.  Interstate 280: Veterans’ Glass City Skyway Landscape Project 

Lucas County (408-07):   From 7am until 4pm daily, crews will be landscaping along the right shoulders in both directions on I-280 between Navarre Avenue and Manhattan Boulevard. Project complete:  October 2009.  All work is weather permitting. 

8.  Interstate 280: Bridge Repair (Brown & Pickle Roads)

Lucas County (529-07): Motorists may encounter intermittent lane restrictions on I-280 at Pickle Road between the hours of 8pm and 6am.  Pickle Road at I-280 is closed until July.  Pickle Road Detour:  Wheeling Street; Brown Road; Coy Road.  Upon completion of Pickle Road, Brown Road overpass will close for 90 days.  Project complete: October 2008. All work is weather permitting. 

9.  Interstate 280:  Ramp Reconstruction and Signalization

Wood County (324-07):  Northbound I-280 ramps at Woodville and Curtice roads are closed for ramp reconstruction.  Detour: I-280 Southbound to Walbridge Rd. Exit and back to Northbound I-280.  Project complete: October 2008.  All work is weather permitting. 

10. Interstate 475/US Route 23:  Bridge Deck Repair

Lucas County:  Thursday, June 19, from 12am until 6am, the right lane of southbound I-475/US 23 at Hill Avenue will be closed for bridge deck repair.  All work is weather permitting.

11.  State Route 51: Monroe Street Resurfacing Project

Lucas County (431-07):  Monroe Street from Whiteford Road to Alexis Road will be restricted to one lane in both directions for resurfacing.  Driveway access and left turn lanes will be maintained.  Project complete: August 2008.  All work is weather permitting. 

12.  US Route 20:  Major Widening

Wood and Sandusky Counties (167-07):  US 20 is being widened from two lanes to five from Pine Street in Woodville, Ohio to the Interchange of US 20/SR 420.  Lane widths in both directions are restricted to 11 feet throughout the construction zone.  One lane will be maintained at all times. Project complete: November 2009.  All work is weather permitting.

13.  State Route 64: Culvert Repair

Wood County:  SR 64 is closed at mile marker 10.00 (King Road, north of Haskins) until further notice due to culvert failure.  Detour: SR 65; SR 582.  For details: http://www.dot.state.oh.us/dist2/pubinfo/releases/64Culvert.htm

14.  State Route 64: Culvert Repairs

Wood County:  Through Friday June 13, at noon, SR 64, from Bishop Road to Cross Creek Road, will be closed for culvert repair.  Driveway access will be maintained.  Detour: Newton Road; SR 25; SR 582.  All work is weather permitting.  For details:  http://www.odotonline.org/detours/detour.asp?detNumber=546

15.  State Route 163:  Railroad Crossing Repair

Wood County:  Through Monday, June 23, SR 163 between US 20/23 and SR 420 will be closed for railroad crossing repair.  Detour:  US 20/23; SR 420.  All work is weather permitting.

16.  US Route 23:  Sewer Repair

Wood County:  Until Friday, June 13, US 23 in the Village of Risingsun in Wood County is closed for sewer repair.   Detour: SR 199; US 6.   For details:  http://www.odotonline.org/detours/detour.asp?detNumber=545

17. Various Routes: Mowing Operations

Lucas County:  Motorists may encounter shoulder work I-75, SR 295, SR 64, US 20A, SR 2 and US-20-Central Avenue for mowing.  All work is weather permitting. 

18.  Various Routes:  Mowing Operations

Wood County:  Motorists may encounter shoulder work on US 20, SR 199, SR 420, SR 582 and SR 795 for mowing through Friday, June 20.  All work is weather permitting.  

19.  Various Routes:  Striping

Wood County:  Beginning Monday, June 16, until Tuesday, July 1, motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures on various routes in Wood County for paint striping.  All work is weather permitting.

20.  Interstate 75:  Spraying

Wood County:  Motorists may encounter shoulder work until Friday, June 13, on I-75 from the Hancock/Wood County line to the Miami Street exit for spraying.

Fulton/Henry/Williams County

21.  US Route 24: New Highway Construction

Henry County (152-08):  Construction of a newly aligned four-lane divided highway, including an interchange at SR 109 and overpass at CR 4A in Henry County.  Construction vehicles will be entering and exiting on current US 24, SR 109 and CR 4A.  Until February 2009, CR 4A will be closed between CR T and CR S for construction of an overpass.  Project complete: November 2011.  All work is weather permitting. 

22.  US 20A:  Culvert Replacement

Fulton County (541-07):  Through Wednesday, June 18, motorists will encounter lane restrictions on US 20A at CR 17. Traffic will be maintained by a temporary signal.  All work is weather permitting.

23.  US 20:  Culvert Replacement

Fulton County (541-07):  Through Friday, June 20, US 20, just south of US 127, is closed for culvert repair.  Detour:  US 127; US 20A; SR 66.  All work is weather permitting.

24.  US 24/US 6: Glenwood Overpass Grade Separation

Henry County:  (66-08) Grade separation over existing four lane highway at US 6/US 24.  Glenwood Avenue between Devonshire Drive and North Harmony Drive is closed for the duration of the project.  Detour: Woodlawn Avenue; CR 15; Township Road R.  Project complete: September 2009.  All work is weather permitting. 

25.  State Route 109: Pavement Repair

Henry County (399-07):  Expect intermittent lane closures on SR 109 between the Putnam/Henry County Line and the Village of Hamler for pavement repair through June.  Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.  Project complete: July 2008.  All work is weather permitting. 

26.  State Route 281: Pavement Repair

Henry County (399-07):  Expect intermittent lane closures on SR 281 between SR 108 and the Henry/Wood County line for pavement repair through June.  Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.  Project complete: July 2008.  All work is weather permitting. 

Ottawa/Sandusky/Seneca County

27.  State Route 53: Bridge Repair

Sandusky County: Through Friday, June 13, SR 53, north of Fremont at the Norfolk Southern Railroad overpass, will be restricted to one lane in each direction for bridge repairs.  All work is weather permitting. 

28.  US 20:  Bridge Replacement

Sandusky County (83-08):  Intermittent daytime lane restrictions are possible on US 20 at the CR 20 overpass.  The ramp connecting westbound US 20 to westbound State Street on the east end of the Fremont Bypass is closed for bridge replacement until September 2008.  Detour: US 20; US 6; US 20; CR 198.  All work is weather permitting. 

29.  US 20:  Bridge Replacement

Sandusky County (83-08): Intermittent daytime lane restrictions are possible on US 20 at SR 412 for bridge replacement.  SR 412 at US 20 is closed.  Eastbound detour: US 6; SR 510.  Westbound detour: US 6; US 20.  Project complete:  October 2009.  All work is weather permitting.  For details:  http://www.odotonline.org/detours/detour.asp?detNumber=540 

30.  SR 163:  Bridge Replacement

Ottawa County (145-08):  SR 163, west of Oak Harbor High School, is closed for bridge replacement until August 2008.  Detour: SR 590; SR 105.  Project complete: November 2008.  All work is weather permitting.  For details: http://www.odotonline.org/detours/detour.asp?detNumber=541 

Various Routes: District Wide

31. Various Routes: Pavement Markings

Fulton, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa Sandusky, Seneca, Williams and Wood Counties: (435-07): Short-term, intermittent lane closures on various routes throughout the district can be expected for pavement marking replacement. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.  Project complete: August 2008.  All work is weather permitting.
