While work is suspended in many ODOT construction zones during Memorial Day weekend, lane restrictions or detours may still affect holiday travel.  Holiday weekend hours are between Friday, May 23 at 3pm until Tuesday, May 27 at 6am. 

 

Lucas/Wood County

 

1.  Interstate 75: Resurfacing Project from I-280 to Michigan Border

Lucas County (6006-07):  Expect intermittent lane and ramp closures in both directions of I-75 from I-280 to the Michigan line for pavement resurfacing. Delays are possible.  Project complete: August 2008.  All work is weather permitting.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend and all lanes will be open to traffic.

 

Lane Closures:  Daily from 6am until 8pm, motorists can expect single lane closures in both directions I-75 from the Ohio/Michigan border to I-280.  Evenings from 8pm to 6am, motorists can expect I-75 to be restricted to one lane in both directions from Ohio/Michigan border to I-280.   Weekend Lane Closures: Beginning Friday, May 30, at 10pm until Monday, June 2, at 6am, I-75 northbound from the Phillips Avenue interchange to the Ottawa River interchange will be restricted to one lane for resurfacing.

 

Ramp Closures:  Beginning Wednesday, May 28 at 6am until Monday, June 2 at 6am, the ramp from Manhattan Boulevard to northbound I-280 will be closed.  Detour: southbound I-280; Greenbelt Parkway; northbound I-280; northbound I-75.  Beginning Friday, May 30, at 10pm until Saturday, May 31, at 10pm, the ramp from northbound I-75 to southbound I-280 (Exit 208) will be closed for resurfacing. Detour: northbound I-75; Alexis Road (Exit 210); southbound I-75; southbound I-280.

 

2.  Interstate 75:  Bridge Repair

Lucas County 543(07):  Intermittent overnight lane closures are possible from 8pm until 6am on I-75 at the Lincoln Avenue Bridge.  Lincoln Avenue at I-75 is closed until September for bridge repair.  Alternate route: Monroe Street to Lawrence Avenue.  Project complete: September 2008.  All work is weather permitting.  Work may continue over holiday weekend and permanent work zones will remain in place.

 

4. Interstate 75: Pavement Cleaning

Lucas County:  Beginning Tuesday, May 27 through Thursday, May 29, overnight from 9pm until 4am, expect intermittent lane closures in both directions of I-75 from Stickney Avenue to I-475/I-75 split for pavement cleaning.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend.

 

5: Interstate 75 & Various Routes: Mowing Operations

Lucas County:  Through Friday, May 30, motorists may encounter shoulder work I-75, I-280, I-475 and US 23 for mowing.  All work is weather permitting.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend.

 

6. Interstate 75:  Resurfacing

Wood County:  Motorists can expect lane restrictions from 8pm through 6am overnight Tuesday through Friday morning on I-75 in both directions from North Baltimore to SR 25 in Cygnet for pavement repairs.  Lane restrictions will resume on Tuesday, May 27 at 8pm.  Project complete: October 2008.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend.

 

7.  Interstate 75:  Mowing Operations

Wood County:  Through Friday, May 30, motorists may encounter shoulder work on I-75 for mowing.  All work is weather permitting.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend.

 

8.  Interstate 280: Veterans’ Glass City Skyway (VGCS) Main Span

Lucas County (493-01):  Bridge over the Maumee River; widen to six lanes, modifying interchanges at Front Street and Greenbelt Parkway.  Motorists can expect intermittent single lane and shoulder closures for finishing activities on the VGCS until October 2008.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend and all lanes will be open to traffic. 

 

9.  Interstate 280: Bridge Repair (Brown & Pickle Roads)

Lucas County (529-07): Motorists may encounter intermittent lane restrictions on I-280 at Pickle Road between the hours of 8pm and 6am.  Pickle Road at I-280 is closed until July.  Upon completion of Pickle Rd, Brown Road overpass will close for 90 days.  All work is weather permitting.  Pickle Road Detour:  Wheeling Street; Brown Road; Coy Road.  Project complete: October 2008. All work is weather permitting.  Work will be suspended over holiday weekend, but permanent work zones will remain in place.

 

10.  Interstate 280:  Ramp Reconstruction and Signalization

Wood County (324-07):  Northbound I-280 ramps at Woodville and Curtice roads are closed for reconstruction and paving.  Detour: I-280 Southbound to Walbridge Rd. Exit and back to Northbound I-280.  Project complete: October 2008.  All work is weather permitting.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend, but permanent zones will remain in place.

 

11.    Interstate 280: Veterans’ Glass City Skyway Landscape Project

Lucas County (408-07):  From 7am until 4pm daily, crews will be landscaping along the right shoulders in both directions on I-280 between Navarre Avenue and Manhattan Boulevard.  Intermittent lane closures are possible.  Project complete:  October 2009.  All work is weather permitting.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend.

 

12.  State Route 2 (Airport Highway): Resurfacing, Signal Upgrade and Pavement Markings

Lucas County (278-07):  The right lane of southbound Reynolds Road to westbound Airport Highway is restricted for construction of a turn lane.  Access to westbound Airport Highway will be maintained.  Also, the right lane of westbound Airport Highway from Melvin Drive to just west of Reynolds Road is closed.  Expect delays during peak traffic times. Project complete: June 2008.  All work is weather permitting.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend but all lanes will be open to traffic.

 

13.  State Route 51: Monroe Street Resurfacing Project

Lucas County (431-07):  Beginning Tuesday, May 27 at 8pm, Monroe Street from Whiteford Road to Alexis Road will be restricted to one lane in both directions for resurfacing.  Driveway access and left turn lanes will be maintained.  Project complete: August 2008.  All work is weather permitting.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend and all lanes will be open to traffic.

 

14.  US Route 20:  Major Widening

Sandusky and Wood Counties (167-07):  US 20 is being widened from two lanes to five from Pine Street in Woodville, Ohio to the Interchange of US 20/SR 420.  Westbound and eastbound lanes are reduced to 11 feet throughout the construction zone.  One lane in both directions will be maintained at all times. Project complete: November 2009.  All work is weather permitting.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend but lane restrictions will remain in place. 

 

15.  State Route 64: Culvert Repair

Wood County:  SR 64 is closed at mile marker 10.00 (King Road, north of Haskins) until further notice due to culvert failure.  Detour: SR 65; SR 582.  For details: http://www.odotonline.org/detours/detour.asp?detNumber=530  Permanent work zones will remain in place over the holiday weekend.

 

16.  Various Routes:  Mowing Operations

Wood County:  Through Friday, June 13, motorists may encounter shoulder work on SR 64, SR 65, and SR 582.  All work is weather permitting.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend.

 

17.  Various Routes:  Bridge Deck Patching

Wood County:  Through Friday, June 13 expect intermittent lane closures on SR 199 at the I-75 bridge, on US 6 at Beaver Creek Bridge, on SR 18 at Yellow Creek Bridge, on SR 578 (Grand Rapids Bridge) over the Maumee River, and on SR 281 at Rocky Ford bridge to repair the decks.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. 

All work is weather permitting.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend.

 

Fulton/Henry/Williams County

 

US 20A :  Culvert Replacement

Fulton County (541-07):  Beginning Saturday, May 24, US 20A at CR 17 will be open for the holiday weekend.  From Tuesday, May 27, until Saturday, May 31, motorists will encounter lane restrictions on US 20A at CR 17.  CR 17 will remain closed at US 20A over the holiday weekend.  All work is weather permitting and will be suspended over the holiday weekend.

 

US 20:  Culvert Replacement

Fulton County (541-07):  Beginning Tuesday, May 27, motorists will encounter lane restrictions on US 20 just south of US 127.  On Monday, June 2, US 20 at US 127 will be closed until Wednesday, June 18, for culvert repair.  Detour:  US 127; US 20A; SR 66.  All work is weather permitting.

 

19.  US 24/US 6: Glenwood Overpass Grade Separation

Henry County:  (66-08) Grade separation over existing four lane highway at US 6/US 24.  Glenwood Avenue between Devonshire Drive and North Harmony Drive is closed for the duration of the project.  Detour: Woodlawn Avenue; CR 15; Township Road R.  Project complete: September 2009.  All work is weather permitting.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend, but permanent work zones will remain in place.

 

20.  State Route 109: Pavement Repair

Henry County (399-07):  Through June expect intermittent lane closures on SR 109 between the Putnam/Henry County Line and the Village of Hamler for pavement repair.  Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.  Project complete:  July 2008.  All work is weather permitting.  Work will be suspended over the holiday weekend.

 

21.  State Route 281: Pavement Repair

Henry County (399-07):  Beginning, Tuesday, May 20, through June, expect intermittent lane closures on SR 281 between State Route 108 and the Henry/Wood County line for pavement repair.  Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.  Project complete: July 2008.  All work is weather permitting.  Work will be suspended over the weekend.

 

Ottawa/Sandusky/Seneca County

 

22.  US 20:  Bridge Replacement

Sandusky County 83(08):  Intermittent daytime lane restrictions are possible on US 20 at the CR 20 overpass.  Presently, the ramp connecting westbound US 20 to westbound State Street on the east end of the Fremont Bypass is closed for bridge replacement until September 2008.  Detour: US 20 WB; US 6; US20 EB; CR198.  All work is weather permitting.  Permanent work zones will remain in place over the holiday weekend.

 

23.  US 20:  Bridge Replacement

Sandusky County 83(08): Intermittent daytime lane restrictions are possible on US 20 at SR 412 for bridge replacement.  Beginning Thursday, May 22, SR 412 at US 20 will be closed.  Eastbound detour: US 6; SR 510.  Westbound detour: US 6; US 20.  Project complete:  October 2009.  All work is weather permitting.  For details:  http://www.odotonline.org/detours/detour.asp?detNumber=540  Permanent work zones will remain in place over the holiday weekend.

 

24.    State Route 358/SR 163:  Bridge Replacement

Ottawa County (145-08):  Presently, SR 163 west of Oak Harbor High School, is closed for bridge replacement.  This closure is expected to last until August 2008.  Detour: SR 590; SR 105.  Project complete: November 2008.  All work is weather permitting.  For details: http://www.odotonline.org/detours/detour.asp?detNumber=541  Permanent work zones will remain in place over the holiday weekend.
