ODOT District Two Winter Weather Update
BOWLING GREEN (Saturday, January 09, 2016) - The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District Two is preparing for winter weather forecasted to arrive on Sunday, January 10. Preparations began Friday as crews readied trucks and materials.
Snow plow crews will be patrolling the area early Sunday morning and begin treating the roadway with brine, salt and plowing when winter weather arrives.
Weather conditions did not warrant pretreating state and federal routes as precipitation is expected to start off as rain and change into snow.
ODOT will continue to work through the day, as windy and cold conditions are expected through Sunday.
Remember to drive well below the posted speed limit and leave plenty of room between cars.
Give snowplows room to work. The plows are wide and can cross the centerline or shoulder. Don’t tailgate and try not to pass.
Vision — A snowplow operator’s field of vision is restricted. You may see them, but they don’t always see you. Keep your distance and watch for sudden stops or turns.
Snowplows travel below the posted speed limit. Be patient. Ice and Snow…Take it Slow.
