ODOT District Two Winter Weather Update
BOWLING GREEN (Saturday, February 14, 2015) – The following is an update from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District Two:
Over 100 ODOT crews in District Two continue to plow state and federal routes. Full crews have been on 12 hour shifts since midnight. 12 hour shifts will continue until wind subsides.
As the wind continues to gust, crews are reporting significant drifting on some routes, especially in rural areas. Drivers should take caution and be aware of changing conditions on the roadways.
If you must travel ODOT advises the following:
· Expect blowing and drifting on roadways, especially in rural areas.
· Near whiteout conditions are possible.
· Expect reduced visibilities overnight.
· Don’t crowd the plow.
· Make sure your vehicle can handle the extreme cold, also clear windows and all lights so that you are visible to other drivers.
