ODOT Schedules U.S. 24 Alternative Refinement Public Meeting
Bowling Green - Ohio Department of Transportation District Deputy Director Richard Martinko today announced that a public meeting has been scheduled to present refinements to the U.S. 24 preferred alternative in Lucas and Henry County.
On Wednesday, November 6, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., a public meeting will be held in the school gymnasium at Otsego Middle School (23939 Second Street, Grand Rapids, Ohio) to discuss refinements to the U.S. 24 Corridor Study. ODOT representatives will provide a brief overview of the refinements from 7:00 until 7:15, and then attendees will be invited to visit displays and discuss the refinements with the project consultant and ODOT representatives.
"The preferred alternative for a new U.S. 24 alignment has not changed," stated Deputy Director Martinko. "The purpose of this public meeting is to explain the refinements that are being made to that preferred alternative. These refinements being made in order to avoid two Bald Eagle nests, and to minimize diagonal splits of farmland."
The refinements involve areas from just west of State Route 109, near Liberty Center in Henry County, to just west of Noward Road in Lucas County. In addition, a minor adjustment has been made to lessen the impact to the Fallen Timbers Golf Course.
