ODOT to Conduct U.S. 24 Public Meetings
Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Napoleon to Toledo U.S. 24 Study is Now Available to the Public

Bowling Green - Ohio Department of Transportation Acting District Deputy Director Mike Ligibel today announced the release of the U.S. 24 project’s Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) and the schedule of public meetings for the proposed U.S. 24. 

”We want to ensure that everyone who is interested has an opportunity to review and comment on the draft environmental document”, Ligibel said. “The DEIS is now available to the public at local libraries and at the ODOT District Two office. The DEIS may also be viewed online at http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D02/usrt24.

Five local libraries and the ODOT District 2 office have a copy of the DEIS. Their locations are listed below:

Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, Maumee Branch, 501 River Rd., Maumee 
Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, Main Branch, 325 Michigan St., Toledo
Liberty Center Public Library, 124 East Street, Liberty Center
Weston Public Library, Grand Rapids Branch, 17620 Bridge St., Grand Rapids
Napoleon Public Library, 310 W. Clinton, Napoleon
ODOT District Two Office, 317 E. Poe Rd., Bowling Green

ODOT also announced today that the official public hearings has been scheduled to gather citizen’s comments about the document and the project. The same information including display boards, maps, and copies of the documents will be available at two identical hearings, as follows:

  •  Monday, October 18, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Anthony Wayne High School, 5967 Finzel Rd., Whitehouse, Ohio. Formal presentation and comment period beginning at 7 p.m. 
  • Wednesday, October 20, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Liberty Center High School, 103 W. Young Street, Liberty Center, Ohio. Formal presentation and comment period beginning at 7 p.m.
