ODOT Weekly Construction Report for the Week of April 13 for Ashland County

U.S. Route 42
U.S. 42, from just north of its bridge over State Route 60 to south of its intersection with State Route 511, is restricted to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a bridge replacement and intersection improvement project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with traffic signals. The project will be completed on November 30, 2009.

State Route 60, City of Ashland – ***UPDATE***
SR-60, at the U.S. Route 42 overpass (between McKinley Boulevard and State Route 511) in the City of Ashland, will close Monday, April 13 for the first phase of bridge demolition as part of the U.S. 42 bridge replacement project. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR-60 to State Route 96 (East Main Street), east on SR-96 to U.S. 42, south on U.S. 42 to SR-511, south on SR-511 to U.S. Route 30, east on U.S. 30 to SR-60, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road will reopen on April 15, 2009.

State Route 60 – ***NEW***
SR-60, 0.3 mile north of Township Road 2104 in Vermillion Township, will close Monday, April 13 for two culvert replacements. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR-60 to State Route 179, south on SR-179 to State Route 95, west on SR-95 to SR-60, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road will reopen on April 17, 2009.

Interstate 71
I-71, between mile markers 194 and 195 (just south of the Wayne County line), is reduced to two lanes of traffic in each direction for work as part of a bridge repair project on State Route 604. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction.  The project will be completed on August 31, 2009.

State Route 604 ***NEW***
SR-604, at its bridge over Interstate 71 (just east of Township Road 53 in Jackson Township), will close Monday, April 13 for a bridge rehabilitation and repair project. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR-604 to U.S. Route 42, south on U.S. 42 to State Route 302, southeast on SR-302 to State Route 301, north on SR-301 to SR-604, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road will reopen on August 26, 2009.

ODOT Weekly Construction Report for the Week of April 13 for Erie County

 U.S. Route 250
U.S. 250, at its overlap with State Route 113, is restricted to one lane of traffic in each direction as part of a bridge replacement and repair project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction as crews perform drainage work and place the final course of asphalt on the bridge deck. The project is scheduled to be completed in June 2009.

ODOT Weekly Construction Report for the Week of April 13 – Lorain and Medina Counties

Interstate 71 and Interstate 76, Medina County ***UPDATE***
Major reconstruction and widening of Interstate 71, including the addition of a third lane in each direction from approximately 0.5 mile north of Leroy Road (TR-57) to one mile north of the I-76 interchange. This project also includes major modifications to the I-71 & I-76 interchange. Two narrowed lanes of traffic are being maintained in each direction on I-71; however, the contractor is permitted single lane closures during non-peak travel times. Motorists are advised to use caution, and watch for slower moving vehicles as they merge into an open lane of traffic. The project is scheduled to be completed on July 31, 2010.

  • U.S. Route 224/Interstate 76, between Lake Road and State Route 3, will have intermittent single lane closures Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17. The lane restrictions will begin at 7:00 a.m. and conclude by 3:00 p.m. each day.
  • The Interstate 71 northbound ramp to U.S. Route 224 westbound is closed for ramp reconstruction work.  The detour route for motorists is I-71 to I-76, east on I-76 to State Route 3, north on SR-3 to I-76, west on I-76 to U.S. 224 west. The ramp will reopen on October 6, 2009.
  • Greenwich Road, between Lake Road and Hulbert Road, is closed for I-71 bridge work as part of this project. Detour is posted. The road will reopen on April 29, 2009.

State Route 83, Medina County – ***NEW***
SR-83, between State Route 18 and State Route 162, will be restricted to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a resurfacing project beginning April 13. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be completed by October 31, 2009.

Interstate 90, Lorain County
I-90, between State Route 2 and State Route 57, is restricted to two narrowed (11-foot) lanes of traffic as part of a bridge rehabilitation project. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction. The project is expected to be completed by September 30, 2009.

State Route 301, Lorain County – ***NEW***
SR-301, between State Route 611 and State Route 254, will be restricted to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a resurfacing project beginning April 13. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be completed by October 15, 2009.

State Route 511, Lorain County ***NEW***
SR-511, at the CSX railroad tracks (just north of North Street in the Village of Rochester), will close Wednesday, April 15 for crossing repair work. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR-511 to State Route 18, east on SR-18 to State Route 58, south on SR-58 to State Route 162, west on SR-162 to SR-511, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road will reopen on April 18, 2009.
