ODOT Closes State Highways due to
High Water & Flood Conditions

                     
ASHLAND (Friday, January 27, 2012 – 1:40 p.m.) Due to recent heavy rainfall and melting snow, several state highways in north central Ohio are experiencing areas with high water; however, at this time, only one roadway has been closed for the safety of motorists. The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 3, which serves Ashland, Crawford, Erie, Huron, Lorain, Medina, Richland, and Wayne Counties, provides the following road closure updates:
 
State Route 96, Richland County - ***NEW***
SR-96, just west of its intersection with State Route 13 in Franklin Township, is closed. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR-96 to Ganges-Five Points Road, north on Ganges-Five Points Road to State Route 603, east on SR-603 to SR-96, and reverse for westbound motorists.
 
State Route 302, Wayne County - ***UPDATE** *
SR-302, between West Old Lincoln Way and Silver Road in Wooster Township, is now open.
