ODOT District 3 Weekly Construction Report
For the Week of June 18

 
ASHLAND COUNTY
State Route 60 - ***NEW***
SR-60, at two locations south of US Route 224 in Ruggles Township, will close Monday, June 18 for culvert replacements. The first location is 0.4 mile north of County Road 500, and the second is 0.5 mile south of Township Road 346. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR-60 to US Route 250, northwest on US 250 to US Route 224, east on US 224 to SR-60, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on June 29, 2012.
US Route 224
US 224, from the Huron County line to State Route 58, is restricted to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in mid-October, 2012.
US Route 250 - ***NEW***
US 250, at its bridge over the Vermilion River (between TR-448 and CR-500) in Ruggles Township, will be reduced to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a bridge replacement project beginning Monday, June 18. Traffic will be maintained at all times with a temporary traffic signal. The project is expected to be complete in mid-October, 2012.
CRAWFORD COUNTY
State Route 98
SR-98, between US Route 30 and Dickson Road, is restricted to one lane of two-way traffic as part of a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project will be complete at the end of November 2012.
State Route 98 - ***NEW***
SR-98, at two locations just east and west of State Route 602, will close Monday, June 18 for bridge replacements. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR-98 to State Route 96, east on SR-96 to State Route 598, north on SR-598 to SR-98, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in mid-August, 2012.
State Route 294 - ***NEW***
SR-294, at two locations in Dallas Township, will close for culvert replacements on Monday, June 18. The first location is 0.4 mile west of Knauss Road and the second 0.25 mile east of Knauss Road.  The detour route for westbound motorists is SR-294 to State Route 4, south on SR-4 to US Route 23, north on US 23 to State Route 231, north on SR-231 to SR-294, and reverse for eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on June 29, 2012.
ERIE COUNTY
State Route 2 
SR-2, between the State Route 13 and Berlin Road interchanges, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction for bridge repairs. The project is expected to be complete in October 2012.
US Route 6 - ***UPDATE***
US 6 (Liberty Avenue), just east of West River Road in the City of Vermilion, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction for a project to repair and repaint the bridge. The bridge will be open and all lanes clear for the Festival of the Fish. This project is expected to be complete in late September, 2012.
US Route 6
US 6, just east of State Route 13 in the City of Huron, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction for bridge repair work. The project is expected to be complete in October 2012.
State Route 61
SR-61, from State Route 113 to the Huron County line, is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete July 31, 2012.
State Route 113
SR-113, just west of County Road 17 in Florence Township, is restricted to one lane of two-way traffic maintained by a temporary signal for bridge repairs. The work is expected to be complete in early July 2012.
HURON COUNTY
State Route 4 -***UPDATE***
SR-4, from State Route 269 (Seneca County line) to US Route 20, is closed for pavement repairs and replacement. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR-4 to US 20, west on US 20 to SR-269, south on SR-269 to SR-4, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on June 21, 2012.
State Route 61
SR-61, from State Route 113 in Erie County to the city of Norwalk, is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete July 31, 2012
LORAIN COUNTY
US Route 20
US 20, from just west of the Parson Road overpass to the Middle Avenue overpass, is reduced to two narrowed 11’ lane widths of traffic in each direction for resurfacing work. Traffic using the US 20 & State Route 301 interchange will also be reduced to narrower lanes. Motorists are advised to use caution and remember that the speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph within this construction work zone. The project is expected to be complete in late September 2012.
·         The US Route 20 eastbound entrance and exit ramps to State Route 511 are closed for resurfacing work. The detour route for US 20 eastbound traffic is to continue east on US 20 and use the State Route 301 interchange to return west on US 20 to SR-511. The detour route for SR-511 traffic to US 20 east is SR-511 to State Route 58, south on SR-58 to US 20 east. The ramps are expected to reopen on June 20, 2012.
Interstate 90
I-90, at its twin bridge structures over the Black River and Ford Road, is reduced to two narrowed 11’ lane widths of traffic in each direction for bridge deck replacements. The restrictions will remain in place through November 2013. 
Interstate 90
I-90, at its Nagel Road overpass (between State Route 83 and Crocker Road), may have intermittent lane restrictions for work as part of the new interchange construction project. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times during the daytime hours. The project is expected to be complete in September 2013.
·         Nagel Road
Nagel Road, over Interstate 90 (between Chester Road and Avon Road), is closed as part of the new interchange construction project. Detour is posted. The road is expected to reopen in September 2013.
State Route 252
SR-252, between Sprague Road and State Route 303 in Medina County, is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic for resurfacing work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete in November 2012.  
MEDINA COUNTY
State Route 3
SR-3, between the City of Medina and Ledge Road, is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. Motorists should be prepared for delays throughout the construction of this project.  The project is expected to be complete in late September 2012.
US Route 42
US 42, from Sleepy Hollow Road to Boston Road in the City of Brunswick, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction as part of a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in late October 2012.
State Route 57
SR-57, between the Lorain County Line and State Route 18, is restricted to one lane of two-way traffic for work as part of a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in mid-September, 2012.
Interstate 76
I-76 eastbound, between State Route 57 and State Route 94, is reduced to one lane of traffic for a reconstruction project. Motorists are advised to use caution in this area and watch for slower moving traffic as it merges in to the open lane. The project will be complete in September 2013.
SR-57 Ramp to I-76 East
The State Route 57 entrance ramp to Interstate 76 eastbound is closed as work continues on rehabilitating the interstate corridor. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR-57 to I-76, west on I-76 to State Route 3, south on SR-3 to I-76 east. The ramp is expected to reopen in late-July, 2012.  
State Route 83 - ***NEW***
SR-83, at its intersection with Shank Road in Litchfield Township, will close Monday, June 18 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR-83 to State Route 162, west on SR-162 to State Route 301, north on SR-301 to State Route 18, east on SR-18 to SR-83, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on June 22, 2012.
State Route 252
SR-252, between Sprague Road in Lorain County and State Route 303, is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic for resurfacing work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete in November 2012. 
Leroy Road
Leroy Road, at its bridge over Interstate 71, is closed for a bridge repair project. Detour is posted. The road is expected to reopen June 26, 2012.
RICHLAND COUNTY
Interstate 71 (Morrow County)
I-71 southbound, from just south of the Morrow/Richland County line to State Route 95 (between mile markers 158 and 150), is reduced to two narrowed lanes of traffic for the reconstruction and widening project. Two lanes will be maintained at all times in the southbound direction. The project is expected to be complete October 2013.
·         County Road 121, at its overpass over I-71, is closed for bridge replacement work as part of this project. Detours are posted. The road is expected to reopen in mid-July, 2012.
State Route 96 - ***NEW***
SR-96, just west of Richland Run Road, will close Monday, June 18 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for westbound motorists is SR-96 to State Route 61, north on SR-61 to State Route 603, south on SR-603 to State Route 13, south on SR-13 to SR-96, and reverse for eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on June 20, 2012.
State Route 545 - ***NEW***
SR-545, just south of the Ashland County line, will close Tuesday, June 19 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR-545 to State Route 96, east on SR-96 to State Route 60, north on SR-60 to US Route 250, west on US 250 to SR-545, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on June 22, 2012. 
WAYNE COUNTY
State Route 3 - ***UPDATE***
SR-3, from just north of Columbus Avenue Extension to State Route 226, will be restricted to one lane of traffic in each direction beginning Monday, June 18 as part of a pavement repair project. Traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction. The project is expected to be complete by late July, 2012.
US Route 250
US 250, between State Route 83 and Kidron Road, is restricted to one lane of two-way traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in mid-September, 2012.
Ruff Road
Ruff Road, at its bridge over Interstate 71, is closed for a bridge repair project. Detour is posted. The road is expected to reopen June 26, 2012.
