ODOT Seeks Comments on Bridge Replacement Project in Lorain County
Ashland (Wednesday, January 08, 2014) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is proposing the following improvement in Lorain County, Ohio:
Lorain SR 301 at the 22.56 mile marker- Bridge Replacement
The project involves a replacement of a structurally deficient single span bridge over the Jungpluth Ditch in Lorain County. The replacement structure is a four sided precast concrete box culvert with full height headwalls. In addition, a portion of the existing retaining walls, located along upstream of the existing structure will be replaced in conjunction with the structure replacement. Approximately 0.0325 acres of right-of-way will be required for the bridge replacement. Construction is anticipated to begin April 4, 2016. The project will cause a detour from SR 254 to SR 611 to SR 301 and reverse.
As part of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), we are seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental and economic impacts of the proposed project. Environmental impacts include those associated with historical, archeological and ecological resources, hazardous materials and general concerns you may have with the project.
