ODOT seeks comments on proposed State Route 511 improvements

Rochester (Friday, July 25, 2014) The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is proposing to replace the existing bridge over the West Branch of the Black River.  This bridge is located just north of SR 162 in Rochester Township, Lorain County.

The project consists of the replacement of the existing bridge with a new bridge on existing alignment.  This work will also include the relocation of the existing channel.  New right-of-way will be acquired to complete this project.

Construction is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2017.  The project will require a detour utilizing SR 162, SR 58 and SR 18.  Access to all adjacent and local properties will be maintained at all times.

As part of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), we are seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental and economic impacts of the proposed project.  Environmental impacts include those associated with historical, archeological and ecological resources, hazardous materials and general concerns you may have with the project.  Written comments concerning the proposed project may be mailed to Mac Vance, Environmental Coordinator.  We can also be contacted by telephone at (800) 276-4188 or by email at Mac.Vance@dot.state.oh.us.  Any comments must be received by July 29, 2014.
