ODOT District 3 Weekly Construction Report
the Week of December 4
State Route 61 ***NEW***
61, between SR 2 and US 6 in Ceylon, OH,
will close Tuesday, December 5
for a storm sewer replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR
61 to SR 2, west on SR 2 to SR 13, north on SR 13 to US 6, east on US 6 to SR
61, and reverse for southbound motorists. The
project will be open from December 21 thru January 2 for the holidays. The road
will reclose on January 2 to continue repairs. The project is expected to be complete May 2018.
State Route 4
SR 4, from US 20 in
Bellevue to Perkins Ave. in Sandusky, will be reduced to one lane of traffic as
crews’ complete end of the year work. Temporary striping operations are to be
completed by next week. Crews will begin to shut down the project for the
winter months and work will resume in the spring. The entire project is
expected to be complete March 2018.
90: Resurfacing ***UPDATE***
I-90, from SR 611 to the Cuyahoga
County line, will have intermittent nightly lane closures. Crews
continue to complete end of the year work. All ramp work at SR 611, SR 83, and
Nagel Rd. is complete and open to traffic. Construction vehicles will be
entering and exiting the work zones frequently so motorists are advised to use
caution while traveling through the zone. The entire project is expected to be
complete September 2018.
Route 42 (Pearl Road)
US 42, from just south of
Harding Street to just south of Reagan Parkway, will have restricted lane
widths at various times as work continues throughout the project. Crews
continue to place concrete for sidewalks and driveways from Reagan Parkway to
the north end, along the east side of US 42. Sewer work, from Reagan Parkway to
the south end, will have daily lane closures as crews continue to work. Work
continues on storm sewers from Reagan Parkway to the south end of the project.
Walgreens can be accessed from the back entrance of the Medina Shopping Center
and the new front entrance off of US 42.
Motorists are advised to use caution when driving though the work zone. All
work is weather dependent and is subject to change. Specific project work can be found online at
transportation.ohio.gov/42. The project is expected to be complete in November
County Road 4 ***UPDATE***
CR 4 (W. Smith Rd.),
between Huntington St. and S. Prospect St., is closed for a bridge replacement.
Monday, December 4 crews will finish
paving Smith Rd. and begin completion work on the sidewalks and railing. This
project is a part of the Ohio Bridge Partnership Program. The detours that have been posted are the following:
The detour route for westbound motorists is CR 4 (W. Smith Rd.) to Huntington
St., north on Huntington St. to Washington St. west on Washington St. to
Prospect St., south on Prospect St. to CR 4, and reverse for eastbound
Truck Detour 1: The detour for westbound motorists is CR 4 to Court St. (SR 3/US 42),
south on Court St. to Lafayette Rd. (US 42), west on Lafayette Rd. to Lake Rd.,
north on Lake Rd. to CR 4, and reverse for eastbound motorists.
Truck Detour 2:
The detour for westbound motorists traveling on SR 18 to CR 4 is west on SR 18
to Jefferson St., north on Jefferson St. to Liberty St., west on Liberty St. to
Court St., south on Court St. to Lafayette Rd., west on Lafayette Rd. to Lake
Rd., north on Lake Rd. to CR 4, and reverse for eastbound motorists.
The detour routes are
marked accordingly. The road is expected to be closed for 90 days.
Kline Rd., over I-71, is closed for a bridge
replacement. There will be nightly lane closures on I-71 as crews continue to
work. The detour route for northbound motorists is Kline Rd. to CR 102 (Ruff
Rd.), east on CR 102 to SR 539 (Congress Rd.), south on SR 539 to Kline Rd, and
reverse for southbound motorists. Crews will begin to shut down the project for
the winter months and work will resume in the spring. The entire project is
expected to be complete April 2018.
The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by
applicable Federal environmental laws for these projects are being, or have
been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of
Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
