to replace an existing culvert on US 250 approximately two miles southeast of
Mt. Eaton, Ohio
WAYNE COUNTY (Wednesday, February 14, 2018) The Ohio Department of
Transportation (ODOT) is proposing to replace an existing
30-inch plain concrete culvert due to separation of culvert sections, which has
caused extreme erosion of the road fill and hillside slopes. A new non-galvanized
metal culvert will be jack and bored under US 250 in an area adjacent to the
existing culvert location. New headwalls will be installed and rock channel
protection will be installed upstream/downstream of the headwalls for scour
protection. In addition to replacing this structure, the roadside slopes will
be reshaped, seeded and mulched. Right-of-way will not be required to replace
this structure and no utilities will be relocated at this location.
Because of the nature of construction, one lane of traffic will be
maintained at all times throughout construction. The construction start date is
anticipated to be October 1, 2018.
