ODOT plans to
replace a deficient culvert just south of Mohicanville along State Route 179
ASHLAND COUNTY (Monday, February 11,
ODOT is planning to replace a deficient culvert along State Route 179
approximately 0.3 miles south of Mohicanville, Ashland County, Ohio. The
proposed work consists of replacing a 48” x 72” concrete box culvert with a 60”
circular concrete pipe. The project will also include resurfacing the
culvert approach, full depth pavement replacement, shoulder reconstruction,
guardrail installation and pavement markings.
New permanent right-of-way
will be required to conduct this work. There will be deep excavation
required at this location to replace the culvert. Utilities may need to be
This project will require a
30-day road closure. The detour route for southbound SR 179 traffic will
be SR 179 southbound to SR 95 southbound to SR 60 southbound to SR 3
northbound. The northbound traffic detour route will be the reverse of the
southbound detour route. Construction is anticipated to begin in in July 2020.
