ODOT District 3 Weekly Construction Report
For the Week of April 16

ASHLAND COUNTY
State Route 39
SR 39, east of Wally Rd. over Black Fork of the Mohican River, will have signalized, single lane closures to maintain traffic for a bridge replacement. The project is expected to be complete June 2018. 

Goon Rd. (CR 3006)
Goon Rd., in the Mohican State Park leading up to the Mohican Lodge, will have intermittent lane closures as part of a resurfacing project. Detours will be posted on State Park Roads for culvert replacements. The project is expected to be complete August 2018.

Interstate 71 ***NEW***
I-71, from US 250 to the Wayne County line, will have intermittent single lane closures as crews begin work as part of a resurfacing project. The project will utilize digital speed limit signs to maintain traffic flow. The posted speed limit when crews are NOT working will be 65 mph; the reduced speed limit when workers are present will be 55mph. The project is expected to be complete August 2018.

CRAWFORD COUNTY
State Route 4
SR 4, from the Marion County line to the City of Bucyrus, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for pavement repairs. Traffic will maintained with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete July 2018.

US Route 30
US 30, at its structure over SR 4, will have intermittent single lane closures on US 30 westbound and SR 4 southbound for bridge repairs. Crews will maintain one lane of traffic in each direction at all times. Please use caution while driving in the area. The project is expected to be complete May 2018.

ERIE COUNTY

US Route 250
US 250, beginning just south of Bogart Rd. to the Huron County line, is reduced to one lane of traffic for pavement repairs. One lane of traffic, along with the center turn lane, will be maintained in each direction at all times. Crews will begin work on the first phase of the project. All work is weather dependent. The project is expected to be complete September 2018.

HURON COUNTY
State Route 18
SR 18, between the SR 60 north and SR 60 south split, is reduced to one lane of traffic for a bridge repair. Traffic will be maintained by temporary traffic signals. The project is expected to be complete May 2018. 

LORAIN COUNTY
State Route 2
SR 2, between SR 58 and Middle Ridge Rd., will have westbound shoulder closures as needed, along with intermittent single lane closures on SR 2, for rock slope maintenance work. Crews continue to rock scaling and slope drape installation. Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the area and to be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the zone. The project is expected to be complete May 2018.

US Route 20
US 20, between Stoney Ridge Rd. and Lear Nagle Rd., will have intermittent shoulder work as crews install  temporary traffic signal poles. Work zone pavement markings will be installed, narrowing lane widths to 10ft. The current three-lane configuration will be maintained. Specific project work can be found online at dot.state.oh.us/districts/D03/Pages/LOR-US-20-. The project is expected to be complete October 2019; however, all work is weather dependent.

Interstate 90: Bridge Replacement
I-90, at the bridges over SR 57 and West River Rd., will have nightly lane closures as crews continue work on the bridge replacement. Westbound I-90 traffic will be shifted to the eastbound side in order to complete the construction of the I-90 westbound structures over SR 57 and West River Rd. Crews will be re-striping I-90 westbound to shift traffic towards the outside shoulder. All exit and entrance ramps to and from SR 57 will remain open. Portable concrete barrier walls will be placed along I-90 westbound to prepare for the upcoming structure work. Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the area and to be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the zone. The project is expected to be complete May 2019; however, all work is weather dependent.

Interstate 90/State Route 83: Minor Widening
I-90, at the SR 83 exit ramps, will have intermittent lane closures and shoulder work as crews begin work to widen the ramp. Crews will be setting up the work zone, installing temporary striping and signs, and saw-cutting the existing pavement. Motorists are advised to use caution when driving in the area. SR 83 and I-90 traffic exit-ramp traffic will be maintained at all times. All single lane closures will take place during off-peak hours. The project is expected to be complete October 2018. 

Interstate 90: Resurfacing
I-90, just west of SR 611 to the Cuyahoga County line, will have nightly lane closures as crews work on pavement repairs. There will be lane closures on I-90 eastbound and westbound as crews begin setting up the zone and begin roadway repairs. Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the area and to be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the zone. The project is expected to be complete September 2018.

Township Road 165 (Crook St.) ***NEW***
Twp. Rd. 165, between Indian Hallow Rd. and Chamberlain Rd., will close Monday, April 16, for 90 days, for a bridge replacement.
The detour route for westbound motorists is Crook St. west to Chamberlain Rd., south on Chamberlain Rd. to SR 303, west on SR 303 to Indian Hallow Rd., north on Indian Hallow Rd. back to Crook Rd., and reverse for eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen July 14, 2018.

MEDINA COUNTY
State Route 18
SR 18, between Normandy Park Dr. and I-71, will have single lane closures in each direction as crews work to remove the existing barrier wall in order to add a west bound left turn lane at Normandy Park Dr. Once the turn lane is complete, the barrier wall will be reinstalled further to the south to accommodate the additional lane. The project is expected to be complete May 2018.

State Route 83
SR 83, between W. Smith Rd and SR 18, is closed for two culvert replacements. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 83 to SR 18, west on SR 18 to SR 301, south on SR 301 to SR 162, east on SR 162 to SR 83, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen Friday, April 20, 2018.

US Route 42 ***UPDATE***
US 42, from just south of Harding Street to just south of Reagan Parkway, will have intermittent lane closures as crews continue work on temporary pavement. The east side of US 42 will be constructed so traffic will be pushed to the west side of US 42. Harding St. is closed for 30 days. The detour route to for Harding St. is to take Forest Meadows Dr. to N. Jefferson St. and then N. Jefferson St. back to Harding St. The intersection at Forest Meadow Dr., will have intermittent closures from 4 am to 7amwhile crews work at the intersection. Access will be maintained to local business at all times.  Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the work zone and to be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the zone. The project is expected to be complete November 2018; however, all work is weather dependent and is subject to change.

State Route 94 ***NEW***
SR 94 at its interchange with I-76, in the City of Wadsworth, will have intermittent lane closures while crew work on finalization items of the project. Specific project work can be found online at transportation.ohio.gov/94.  The project is expected to be complete June 2018.

RICHLAND COUNTY
US ROUTE 30 ***NEW***
US 30, from the Crawford County line to the Ontario Corporation Limits, will have singe lane closures in each direction while crew perform crack seal operations. All work is weather dependent. The project is expected to be complete by May 2018.

County Road 184 (Kuhn Rd.)
Kuhn Rd, between London West Rd and Hazel Brush Rd, is closed for a bridge replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is Kuhn Rd to London West Rd, east on London West Rd to Champion Rd, north on Champion Rd to Hazel Brush Rd, west on Hazel Brush Rd to Kuhn Rd, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen April 2018.

WAYNE COUNTY
Interstate 71 ***UPDATE***
I-71, beginning just south of SR 301 and ending at the Medina County line will have intermittent single lane closures during the day, and double lane closures at night for pavement repairs. The project will utilize digital speed limit signs to maintain traffic flow. The reduced speed limit when workers are present will be 55mph and will resume a speed limit of 65 mph when crews are NOT working. The Wayne County northbound rest area will close Monday, April 16, for 30 days for repairs. All work is weather dependent and is subject to change. The project is expected to be complete September 2018. 

State Route 539
SR 539, at the West Salem corporation limits and moving towards the Village of Congress, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for pavement repairs Tuesday, April 3. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete October 2018; however, all work is weather dependent and is subject to change.​
