‚ÄčThe Medina Regional Transportation Study is evaluating the existing transportation conditions, including safety and congestion issues within the City of Medina and the Townships of Lafayette, Medina, Montville and York within Medina County.

The current transportation network in Medina is characterized by arterial routes (two lane and multi-lane) radiating from the City of Medin and Interstate 71, which runs north-south through the east side of the study area. Transportation problems include auto and truck traffic congestion at points on the arterial network, especially in the Medina City center; in addition, there is a desire for another access point on I-71 in Montville Township. For purposes of current and future analysis years, the scope of work assumes that the year 2014 traffic counts will be forecast to a design year of 2034.

The goal of the project is to identify strategies to alleviate traffic congestion in and around the City of Medina in a financially responsible manner.
