District Deputy Director
All Ohio Department of Transportation activities within the six county area that comprises District 4 fall under the guidance of the District Deputy Director. The District Deputy Director is responsible for strategic planning, short and long-term goal setting, performance measurement, policy development and deployment on both a Statewide and District wide level.
The District Deputy Director relies on Administrators in the areas of Planning & Engineering, Highway Management, and Business & Human Resources to assure that processes and procedures are followed to achieve the “mission” of the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Anthony M. Urankar is the Deputy Director for District 4.
The following areas of responsibility fall directly under the District Deputy Director:
Labor Relations Section
The roles and responsibilities of the Labor Relations Section are to provide accurate advice and service regarding labor relations, contract administration, grievance procedures/processing, drug/alcohol testing and discipline to internal customers of District 4 and external customers outside of ODOT.
Products and functions of the department are to administer labor relations policies and procedures, resolve grievances, interpret contractual inquires, present mediation, prepare and present arbitration and administer the Drug Free Workplace program for District 4.
Public Information Office
The Public Information Office Section serves the six counties of District 4, as well as District headquarters to provide timely and accurate information to the public while promoting ODOT activities, programs and events.
The Public Information Office is primarily responsible for daily communications with the media, government officials, and members of the community. In addition, the office is responsible for internal and external publications, the promotion of district programs and events, and the coordination of presentations and meetings.
