Of all ODOT's employees, the County Highway Maintenance Workers are those who are the most visible to the traveling public.  These are the employees who clear the state highways of snow and ice during the winter months.  When not cleaning snow and ice, or responding to other emergencies, county crews perform highway maintenace such as: 

  • Guardrail Installation and Repair

  • Pavement Repair and Resurfacing

  • Vegetation Control - Mowing and Cutting Brush

  • Litter Control

  • Drain Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Sign and Pavement Marking Replacement 

The Summit County Garage facility is located in Hudson, just off of SR 8 and SR 303. This county maintains the roadways on federal and state routes in and around Akron, Fairlawn, Stow, Hudson, Twinsburg, Macedonia, Richfield, Munroe Falls, Cuyahoga Falls, Norton, Tallmadge, Green, Barberton and New Franklin..
