Interstate 76 & 77 in the City of Akron
(Monday, August 19 – Friday, August 22)
The following ramps will be closed for resurfacing between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly. During these times, I-76 at the Central Interchange will have various lane restrictions:
· Monday, August 19, I-76 westbound to I-77 southbound. The detour will be East Ave. to I-76 eastbound.
· Tuesday, August 20, I-76 eastbound to SR 8. The detour will be Fuller St. to I-76 eastbound.
· Wednesday, August 21, I-76 westbound to I-77 southbound. The detour will be East Ave. to I-76 eastbound.
· Thursday, August 22, I-76 eastbound to SR 8. The detour will be Fuller St. to I-76 eastbound.
This work is part of a $1.3 million project to resurface I-76 at the Central Interchange and I-77 from I-76 (Kenmore Leg) to SR 162/Copley Rd. In addition, the project also includes two bridge overlays on I-76 eastbound and westbound at the Central Interchange over I-77 northbound and SR 8.The entire project is scheduled to be completed by September 2013.
