U.S. Route 30 at Harrison Avenue in the City of Canton

(Friday night, August 8 – Monday morning, August 11)

US 30 eastbound under Harrison Ave. and Harrison Ave. over US 30 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday night, August 8 until 6 a.m. Monday morning, August 11. The detour for US 30 eastbound will have traffic exiting US 30 eastbound at the Harrison Ave. exit and then re-entering US 30 eastbound via the entrance ramp to US 30 eastbound. The detour for Harrison Ave. will be 13th St. to Dueber Ave. to Navarre Rd. This work is part of a $70,000 project to repair structural damage to the Harrison Ave. bridge over US 30.  

U.S. Route 62 in the City of Canton and Plain Township

(Friday night, August 1 – Monday morning, August 4)

No lane restrictions will occur on US 62 through Monday morning, August 4 due to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Week.

No lane restrictions are planned at this time. Updates will follow if this should change. This work is part of a $2.5 million project to resurface US 62 from I-77 to Columbus Ave. as well as minor bridge repairs. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by late September 2008.

State Route 21 in the City of Massillon

(Until further notice)

The Erie St. access road bridge is now open to two way traffic (both eastbound and westbound). This work is part of a $2.1 million project to widen, re-deck and paint the Erie St. access road bridge over SR 21. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by November 2009

 State Route 21 in the City of Massillon and Perry Township

(Until further notice)

SR 21 from just south of the US 30 interchange to Walnut St. is reduced to one lane in each direction for resurfacing work. In addition, SR 21 over the Tuscarawas River is reduced to one lane in each direction. This work is part of a $10.2 million project to resurface SR 21 from the southern Massillon Corporation limit to Finefrock Rd. and from the northern Massillon corporation limit to the Lawrence Township line. The project also includes the re-decking and painting of the twin bridges on SR 21 over the Tuscarawas River.  The entire project is scheduled to be complete by June 2009. 

U.S. Route 30 and Deerfield Avenue in Tuscarawas Township

(Until further notice)

US 30 at Deerfield Ave. has various lane restrictions for bridge work. As a reminder, the Deerfield Ave. bridge over US 30 is now open. This work is part of a $4.8 million project to resurface US 30 from the Wayne County line to the western Massillon Corporation limit as well as the reconstruction of the Deerfield Ave. bridge. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by late October 2008. 

State Routes 43 & 619 in Lake Township

(Until further notice)

SR 43 from the Portage County line to SR 619 will have various lane restrictions for resurfacing and bridge work. This work is part of a $1.1 million project to resurface SR 43 from SR 619 to the Portage County line and SR 619 from the Summit County line to the Hartville Corporation limit. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by late Summer 2008. 

State Routes 93 & 212 in the Villages of Brewster and Beach City

(Until further notice)

SR 93 just south of the Village of Brewster may have possible daily lane restrictions at the bridge over Sugar Creek through mid August. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. This work is part of a $1.3 million improvement project to resurface SR 93 from the Tuscarawas County line to US 62 and SR 212 from the Tuscarawas County line to US 250 through the villages of Beach City and Brewster. This project also includes bridge work to the SR 93 bridge over Sugar Creek. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by late September, 2008.

 State Routes 153 & 173 in Nimishillen, Marlboro, Washington, and Lexington Townships

(Until further notice)

SR 173 from SR 44 to just west of US 62 and SR 153 from the eastern Louisville corporation limit to Parks Ave. have various lane restrictions with traffic being maintained by flaggers. This work is part of a $1.3 million project to resurface SR 153 from the eastern Louisville corp. limit to Parks Ave. and SR 173 from SR 44 to just west of US 62 as well as minor bridge work on SR 173. The entire project is expected to be complete by late October 2008.    

State Route 212 in Bethlehem Township

(Until further notice)

The SR 212 bridge over the Tuscarawas River is closed until late August for bridge re-decking. The detour is SR 21 to US 250 to I-77 to SR 212. This work is part of a $1.1 million project to re-deck and paint the SR 212 bridge over the Tuscarawas River. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by October 2008.  

State Routes 241 (Wales Avenue) & 687 (Fulton Drive) in Jackson Township

(Until further notice)

SR 241 has been reduced to one 9’ lane in each direction from SR 687 to Shady Hollow Rd. Additional lane restrictions at various locations on SR 241 (Wales Ave.) and SR 687 (Fulton Dr.) will occur for intersection reconstruction. This work is part of a $6.4 million project to improve and widen the intersection of SR 241 and SR 687 in Jackson Township. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by October 2009.
