Planning & EngineeringThe District 5 Transportation Planning and Engineering Department is structured into eleven separate areas consisting of Bridge and Culvert Management, Traffic and Safety Management, Programs and Funds Management, Environmental and Project Development Management, Access Management and Pavement Management, In-House Plan Design, Consultant Administration, Survey Operations and Real Estate. Highway ManagementThe Highway Management administrative area is the front line of ODOT, in general, and encompasses the majority of the activities, employees and dollars expended from maintenance operations such as snow and ice control in the winter to major highway construction in the summer. Public Information OfficeThe public information office dispatches media advisories and news releases that pertain to construction and maintenance projects, major programs, weather and traffic-related situations which affect the public and accomplishments of employees.
Business and Human ResourcesThe Business and Human Resources department provides the internal services needed for ODOT's daily operation. The department consists of four areas: Finance, Personnel, Information Technology and Facilities. Labor Relations OfficeThe Labor Relations Officer is responsible for assuring that proper processes and procedures are in place throughout the district to allow supervisory personnel to manage human resources to the extent possible or necessary within guidelines of the Contract between the State of Ohio and the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association/AFSCME Local 11 AFL-CIO.
