- Business and Human Resources
The Business and Human Resources Department (B & HR) provides the internal services needed for ODOT District 5’s daily operation. The B & HR Department consists of the following areas of responsibility:
Accounting/Finance - Responsible for all payroll, purchasing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and oversees the budget for District 5.
Personnel - Provides quality service through the selective hiring process and coordination of all personnel activities throughout the district, including coordination of Employee Training and Development. Responsibilities include employment opportunities, recruitment, position descriptions, personnel actions, interview/selection process, Ohio Performance Review System (evaluations), Engineer-in-Training Program, College Intern Program, Transportation Seasonal Help Program (Summer Program) and the Fall/Winter Seasonal Program.
Employee Benefits & Wellness – Coordinates benefits, such as life and health insurance, and disability matters. Promotes employee wellness via health fairs and other informational health related programs.
Facilities - Area of responsibility includes the management and maintenance of all thirty-one District 5 facilities, which includes the District complex in Jacksontown, all county garages, outpost and rest areas.
Information Technology (IT) - Responsible for providing support services for computer hardware, software, and telecommunications for District employees.
Safety – the safety of the motoring public is a high priority to this division of District 5. The Safety Division also ensures that District employees have a safe and healthy working environment. In addition, Safety is responsible for the investigation of all work-related injuries, workers compensation claims, and damage claims.
