US Route 33 Corridor Project
US 33 Corridor Map
In November 2001, a comprehensive U.S. 33 Access Management Study was initiated to identify feasible and prudent alternatives to eliminate the existing at-grade intersections along this corridor. Various stakeholders of the community participated in this study to help ODOT develop proposed projects that were presented for public review and comment. As a result of numerous meetings with the stakeholders along with the public involvement process, five projects were identified that would eliminate the intersecting roadways along U.S. 33:
-
Ebright Road overpass
(open to traffic 2007)
-
Bixby Road interchange
(under development earliest possible construction 2012)
-
Winchester Road “Carroll-area” interchange
(under development but not scheduled for construction)
-
High Street/Bowen Road overpass
(not scheduled)
-
Pickerington Road interchange
(not scheduled)
When all of the proposed projects are complete, at an estimated total of $145 million, this 12-mile stretch of roadway will be a limited-access highway with interchanges and overpasses instead of intersections. ODOT will partner with local officials to apply for right-of-way and construction funding for these projects.
