Of all ODOT's employees, the County Highway Maintenance Workers are those who are the most visible to the traveling public. These are the employees who clear the state highways of snow and ice during the winter months. They are called upon to clean up the roadways following wind storms, and set up detours in situations such as flooding or traffic accidents.
When not responding to unforeseen emergencies, the County Workforces perform routine highway maintenance such as:
-
Guardrail Installation and Repair
-
Pavement Repair and Resurfacing
-
Vegetation Control - Mowing and Cutting Brush
-
Litter Control
-
Drain Cleaning and Maintenance
-
Sign and Pavement Marking Replacement
