State Route 161 – Mink Street Interchange Construction Update
Motorists can expect daily lane closures on SR 161 over Mink Street, during permitted hours. Crews will be placing a portable concrete barrier to protect our work area where new ramps will tie into SR 161. The barrier will remain in place this season with right shoulder closures throughout the project. Except for periodic daily lane closures, two lanes of SR 161 will be maintained at all times.
Mink Street will close between Cobbs Road and Jug Road (north of SR 161) for 45 days beginning Monday, April 10th. Message boards were put on Monday, April 3rd, to give a weeks’ notice of the closure. Motorists traveling northbound on Mink Street should go west on Worthington Rd., north on Beech Rd., and east on Jug Rd. Motorists traveling southbound on Mink Street should go west on Jug Rd., south on Beech Rd., and east on Worthington Rd.
ODOT plans to open the new interchange in late fall of 2017.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
