Muskingum County -- Interstate 70
Interstate 70 maintenance work continues on bridge structure
Jacksontown (Tuesday, January 5, 2010) – The Ohio Department of Transportation, District 5 Deputy Director Karl D. Newman announces that the contractor, Shaw and Holter of Lancaster, will begin work to repair the concrete deck and an expansion joint on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70, just before the State Street exit.
Crews will work on Interstate 70 beginning, tomorrow, Wednesday, January 6, 2010. Crews will work daylight hours, Monday – Saturday. Traffic will be controlled by a single lane closure and is advised to travel at 45 mph in the work zone.
This project will be completed in two phases. The first phase will begin, Wednesday, January 6, 2010 restricting the driving lane. The second phase will begin when the first is complete and will restrict the passing lane. This restriction will take place until work is complete.
Approximate duration of work is 10-12 weeks dependent on weather and unforeseen conditions.
There is a width restriction of 12 feet.
