ODOT District 5 Weekly Traffic Advisory
For the week ending July 5, 2014: The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system within ODOT District 5. Coshocton County

July 7

SR 206 will be restricted to one lane in between SR 541 and US 62 for resurfacing work.  Crews will close one lane and traffic will be maintained with flaggers.  The work will take place from 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and be completed by October 1st, 2014.

July 7

Work will begin on SR 541 on a culvert replacement about six miles west of Coshocton.  The road will close July 14th, and remain closed for 16 days while crews are working. 

July 14

Crews will begin work on SR 60 in Metham in between CR 24 and CR 49 for a bridge replacement.  The road will close July 21st and be closed for 90 days.  The project will be completed by November 15th, 2014.

Detour: SR 36 to SR 206 to US 62 and reverse. 


Fairfield County

July 7

SR 204 between SR 37 and SR 158 will be closed for multiple culvert replacements.  Crews will work between the village of Millersport and Pickerington from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The road will reopen July 18th.

Detour: SR 158N to I-70E to SR 37E and reverse.

 

Ongoing

Work will continue on SR 37 as workers continue to repair two bridges North and East of Lancaster.  One lane of traffic will be closed and maintained with a signal.

 

Work will continue in Downtown Lancaster on a resurfacing project on SR37, SR 158 and US22 within the City of Lancaster. The project estimated completion is the end of August 2014.

 

Guernsey County

July 7

SR 265 will begin work on multiple culvert replacements, each requiring a ten day closure.  Details regarding the closure will be provided as the schedule becomes available. 

 

Ongoing

Resurfacing work continues on I-70 and SR 265.  Beginning July 7 night work will begin on I-70 which will require lane closures from 6:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

 

Resurfacing work continues on SR 513 and lane closures may be needed for short periods of time, traffic will be maintained with flaggers.  Estimated completion is August 1st, 2014.

 

Knox County

July 14

SR 541 will be closed during daytime hours, 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. for multiple culvert replacements.  There may be a need for nightly closures but crews will try to open the road at the end of each day.  The road will be closed between US 62 and the Coshocton County Line.  Workers will begin between US 62 and Baird Rd and work their way east.  The road will reopen August 8, 2014 weather permitting.

Detour: SR 586 South to SR 79 North and reverse.

 

Ongoing

Work will continue on US 62 between the Licking and Holmes County lines on a resurfacing project.  Workers will begin paving after on US 62 after the 4th of July holiday. 

 

Licking County

July 7

Work will begin on SR 661 just south of Timbuck Rd. and north of Chatham Rd.  The road will close Tuesday, July 8th at 7:00 a.m. and remain closed Wednesday, July 9th.  Work will continue until Friday, July 11th.  Sportsmanclub Rd. may also experience periodic closures.

Detour: SR 661 to SR 657 to SR 62 to SR 37 back to SR 661 and reverse. 

 

July 7

CR 539 (Broadway/Granville-Newark Rd.) will be restricted to one lane for resurfacing.  Work will take place between Beachwood Drive and Westwood Drive in the village of Granville.  Crews will work from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.  One lane of traffic will be maintained with flaggers.  This project will be completed October 31, 2014. 

 

July 14

Work will begin on a bridge replacement and improvement project at the intersection of Refugee and York Rd.  Crews will work on building a new bridge without affecting traffic.  Road closures will occur in the spring of 2015, estimated completion of the project is fall of 2015. 

 

Ongoing

State Route 37 crews are working to resurface the route between the Delaware county line and the Interstate 70 Interchange.  Workers are currently working on a bridge repair in preparing for resurfacing which will begin July 10th.  During the resurfacing one lane will be closed and traffic will be maintained with flaggers.  Work will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

 

US 62 between two miles west of SR 657 and the Knox County line will be restricted to one lane this week for bridge repair.  In the next two weeks, crews will place pavement markers and rumble strips along the roadway.  The estimated completion date for the entire project is September 30th, 2014.

 

Work will continue on SR 79 between E. Main street (Newark) and the Coshocton County line on a resurfacing project.  One lane will be closed with traffic maintained with flaggers. 

 

Work will continue on I-70 about two miles west of SR 79 on a bridge replacement project.  Workers are continuing to build on the new bridge and traffic is being maintained with a median barrier. 

 

Work will continue on SR 16 between Dayton Road and the Muskingum County line.  Currently the passing last is closed in both the east and west bound directions while crews work on the bridge.  Crews are also paving in both lanes. 

 

Work will continue on a paving project including both Licking and Fairfield counties in the Buckeye Lake and Hebron area.  Workers are currently resurfacing SR 79 near 37 and are estimated to be complete in this area by July, 11th, 2014.

 

Work will continue in the city of Newark at the Dayton Rd. and SR 16 interchange and the W. Main Street and 30th Street intersections as workers upgrade signals.  Traffic will be maintained with minimum lane closures needed.  Estimated completion is September 30, 2014.

 

Muskingum County

July 7

SR 666 will close for a bridge replacement near Bateman Rd, about three miles north of Zanesville. 

Detour: SR 60 to SR 208 to SR 666 and reverse. Project is set to be complete by October, 2014.  

 

Ongoing

Crews continue work on CR 2020 (5th Street) on a resurfacing project in Zanesville.  Crews are working on minor adjustments next week.  Estimated completion is fall of 2014.

Work on SR 60 will continue into next week as crews diamond grind the pavement and complete concrete sealing.  Estimated completion is fall of 2014.

 

Crews continue to work on SR 83 on a bridge repair at US 40 and US 22 Intersection. The bridge is in phase 2 of construction. Estimated completion is fall of 2014.

NB traffic Detour: US 22 west to I-70 east, back to SR 83. Alternatively, drives can follow US 22 east to SR 723 south, to I-70 west. Reverse routes will apply to northbound traffic.

 

Perry County

July 7

SR 37 will be closed just east of Township Rd 320 for a slip repair.  Work will take place from 6:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.  The road will reopen July 11th, 5:00 p.m.

Detour: SR 93 to SR 669 to SR 555 and reverse. 

 

Ongoing

Crews will continue to work on the shoulder of SR 13 and SR 37 in preparation for multiple bridge replacements near Portersville and New Lexington.  The roads will close beginning late July, additional details and closures will be announced once a schedule is finalized.

 

District Wide

July 7

Drivers can expect to see crews throughout the entire district marking pavement.  The workers will work either as a moving operation or close one lane of a four way highway as needed.  Work will start in Muskingum county and continue until May, 2015 as part of a safety project to improve visibility of pavement markers to drivers.  

 

Ongoing

Various bridge repairs will continue this summer throughout Fairfield and Licking County.  Workers are currently working on resurfacing of these bridges and any lane closures will take place at night.

 

Ongoing

Guardrail repair will be taking place this summer and into April 2015, crews may close lanes and use flaggers to maintain traffic for short periods of time as needed
