ODOT District 5 Weekly Traffic Advisory
For the week of September 4, 2015
The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system within ODOT District 5, which includes the counties of Coshocton, Fairfield, Guernsey, Knox, Licking, Muskingum, and Perry. SR 751: Beginning Wednesday, September 9th, the road will be closed for multiple culvert replacements. The road will be closed for 10 days at two different locations. The first location is approximately 2.5 miles north of US 36. The second location is between TR 248 and Bakersfield. Traffic will be detoured to I-77 to US 36.
US 22: Beginning Monday, August 31st, US 22 in Fairfield County will be closed. The road will close just east of SR 674 near the Fairfield/Pickaway County line. Crews will work to replace a culvert Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The road will reopen Saturday, September 4th, weather permitting.
West bound traffic will be detoured to US 33 west, to SR 188 west, and to SR 674 south. East bound traffic will be detoured to SR 674 north, to SR 188 east, and to US 33 east.
US 33: Crews continue to work on a new Carroll Interchange. The contractor is now working on the bridge and continuing work on the connector. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction.
US 22: Work continues on a new bridge near Rushville. The contractor is placing forms on the deck of the bridge and working on the pavement on either side. The project will open to traffic in October 2015. The projected is expected to be completed in June of 2016.
SR 256: One lane remains closed while crews work on two bridges. Currently, crews are working on the bridge deck and sidewalks. The project is expected to be completed in October of 2015.
SR 256: Crews continue to work on widening the road and installing raised median within the city of Pickerington. The project is expected to be competed in November of 2015.
I-70: Crews are working from the Muskingum County line through the SR 723 Interchange. Traffic will be restricted while crews work from 6:00p.m.-3:00p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 6:00p.m.-1:00p.m. Thursday through Saturday. This schedule will continue through September 5, 2015 weather permitting.
SR 209: Crews are now working on the second bridge, located just south of downtown Cambridge, over the railroad.
Detour: SR 209, to US 40 east, to IR 77 south, to IR 70 west, and back to SR 209. Asphalt paving operations, being performed as part of this project are proceeding through Byesville, on SR 821, and on SR 209, from Byesville, up through the City of Cambridge, using a flagging operation to maintain two-way traffic.
I-70: Crews are continuing to work on the I-70 bridges over SR 265, as part of a bridge widening and deck replacement project. Traffic is currently shifted over, with a portion of the driving lanes on the outside shoulders. This traffic pattern will be in effect until Phase 1 of the project is completed in the Spring. Drivers should expect occasional lane closures, as well, during hours when traffic is not at its peak.
I-70: The bridge painting contractor is beginning set-up and painting operations, for the County Home Road bridge, over I-70, near the Guernsey County Fairgrounds. This work will require periodic lane closures on I-70, beneath the bridge, as work progresses.
SR 658: Traffic will continue to experience minor delays, as paving and bridge repair operations continue, with flaggers used to maintain two-way traffic. This project extends from SR 209, east of Cambridge, north, to SR 541.
Beginning Monday, August 24th, crews will begin paving throughout Knox County. Traffic will be reduced to one lane at each of the following locations:
Monday, August 24th to Friday, August 28th
SR 586 between Mt. Vernon and Licking County line
Monday, August 31st to Friday, September 4th
SR 768 between Mt. Vernon and SR 3
SR 3 North between Mt. Vernon and Ashland County line
Tuesday, September 8th to Friday, September 11th
SR 715 between US 36 and Coshocton County line
SR 229 West between Mt. Vernon and Morrow County line
Crews will begin work at each day starting at 7:00 a.m. and reopen at 5:00 p.m., weather permitting. Schedule is subject to change.
Township Rd. 35: Tuesday, August 25, Beaver Run Rd. will be reduced to one lane between SR 37 and Thornwood Drive for resurfacing. Crews will work from 7:00am-5:00pm each day and traffic will be maintained with flaggers. The project is expected to be completed November, 15, 2015.
Township Road 232: Beginning August 31 TR 232 (Seven Hills Road) in Licking County will be closed. Crews will be replacing the existing structure over Columbus and Ohio River Railroad between Marne Road and the T.J. Evans Trail. The project is expected to be finished November 30, 2015.
CR 539B: Starting, August 11th, CR 539B in Licking County was be restricted. Crews began work on the curbs and sidewalk and eventually move to resurfacing between W. Broadway and Weaver Drive in the village of Granville. Drivers should expect delays with daily one lane closures in the area. The project is expected to be finished October 31, 2015.
US 62: August 12th, work began on a new pedestrian bridge in Licking County. Crews will work between Bigelow Drive and Wesview Drive on US 62. Traffic will be maintained with limited lane closures as needed.
SR 313: Beginning Monday August 31st, SR 313 will be closed north of Tom Ln while crews perform a slide repair. The road will re-open to traffic on Friday September 4th. The point of closure is located between Hardy Lane and Tom Lane.
Detour: SR 83 to SR 146 back to SR 313.
SR 555: Crews will resume paving operations on SR 555, on Monday, August 17th. They will be working from SR 719, down to the southernmost county line between Perry and Morgan Counties, starting with pavement repairs. Two-way traffic will be maintained, for the duration of the project, by the use of flaggers. This project is scheduled for completion on October 31, 2015.
County Road Projects: The following Muskingum County Roads are closed for the next 60-90 days for replacement of the existing bridges.
1. Rural Dale Road over Guyst Fork
2. Cutler Lake Road over the Mann’s Fork of Salt Creek
3. Hamby Hill Road over Wakatomika Creek
US 22: One lane remains closed while crews work on two bridges. Currently, crews are working on the bridge west of US22/SR204 intersection. The project is expected to be completed in October of 2015.
SR13: Crews continue to work on resurfacing SR13 from Athens county line to New Lexington. The project is expected to be completed in September of 2015.
Various Routes: Crews will be performing asphalt repairs at various locations: Coshocton SR 643 and SR 651, Guernsey County SR 313, Licking County US 40, and Fairfield County SR 159. Two way traffic will be maintained with flaggers during the temporary operation. The project will start Thursday, August 27 and is expected to be completed November 15, 2015.
