The Ohio Department of Transportation district 6 is responsible for 4,797 US Route, State Route and Interstate lane miles and 1,557 bridges throughout eight counties in Central Ohio including: Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Pickaway and Union Counties.

All Department of Transportation activities within the eight county region of District 6 fall under the guidance of the District Deputy Director. The Deputy Director assists in strategic planning, short and long term goal setting, performance measurement and policy development and deployment on both the statewide and district wide level. The Deputy Director also represents and communicates the activities, views and policies of the department with representatives of local, state and federal agencies, elected officials of local, state and federal governments, consultants, contractors, vendors, the news media and the general public. Business and Human Resources, Regan Morrison -Acting Administrator
The Business & Human Resource (B&HR) administrative area handles many different responsibilities, tasks, and activities within District 6. The following responsibilities fall under the category of The Business and Human Resource: Personnel, Accounting/Finance, Payroll, Facilities, Information Technology (IT), Safety, District Garages, and Employee Training.
Personnel is responsible for the entire personnel program for District 6. Their responsibilities include vacancy postings, personnel actions, position descriptions, coordination of employee benefits, the interviewing and selection process and employee training. Data Systems Management (DSM) is responsible for all of the technology and communication at District 6 which also includes networking, telecommunications and software development. Highway Management, Robert Lloyd - Administrator
The Highway Management Department responsibilities include the maintenance of highways and roads including ice and snow removal. This department has many different parts that it consists of including, Construction, Roadway Services and County Management

County Management is solely responsible for maintenance of the state highway systems within their specific county. District 6 represents 8 different counties, including, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Pickaway, and Union.
Planning and Engineering, Thom Slack-Administrator
Planning and Engineering develops and monitors the district's work program, identifying improvement projects each year based on budget allocations and is responsible for in-house project design and consultant contract administration. Other duties include surveying, traffic, and bridge engineering, project right of way coordination, and utilities disposition and coordination. They also ensure the department is adhering to all environmental regulations and involving the community in transportation decisions.
