Last of 3 new Bridges in Madison County to Open Ahead of Schedule
DELAWARE – (NEW) The third and final bridge on State Route 323 in Madison County between Midway and Mt. Sterling open to traffic today, which is almost two months ahead of schedule.
The mild, dry conditions this summer allowed the contractor, Ratzlaff Construction Company, to finish the bridge sooner the original completion date of October 31.
It was one year ago to the day, September 6, 2011 that ODOT began construction on the first of three bridges on SR 323 that needed to be replaced due to their age. All three bridges were built in 1952.
The total cost for these three new bridges was $1.5 million.
