Mound Street Project to Impact Downtown Traffic This Weekend

COLUMBUS(NEW) Travelers heading downtown this weekend will see overnight construction both Friday and Saturday night as progress continues on the Mound Street project.  The $27 million project is building a new bridge and ramp to Mound Street from Interstate 70 west and constructing a new bridge at 18th Street, which is expected to be completed this Fall.

 

In order to continue with progress on the new 18th Street bridge, here’s how traffic will be impacted on I-70.

 

Friday, March 14, 2014

At 7 p.m., I-70 west will be reduced to three lanes between Miller-Kelton and 18th Street for striping.

At 8 a.m. Saturday, all lanes of I-70 west will be open.

 

Saturday, March 15, 2014

At 7 p.m., I-70 west will be reduced to three lanes between Miller-Kelton and I-70/71.

At 7 p.m., I-70 east will be reduced to three lanes between I-70/71 and Miller-Kelton.  

At 9 p.m., I-70 west will close between Miller-Kelton and I-70/71. Drivers will be forced to exit at I-71 north and follow the detour to I-670 west to SR 315 south to I-70 west. The ramps to I-70 west from Miller-Kelton and Livingston Avenue will also 

be closed.

At 11 p.m., The ramp from I-70 west to I-71 north will be reduced to one lane.

At 8 a.m. Sunday, all lanes and ramps in both directions are open.
