RAIN Amends work on I-270 north near Easton this Weekend
More lanes will be open and sooner
COLUMBUS (May 18, 2017) – (NEW) Here’s proof why ODOT constantly uses the disclaimer, ‘weather permitting’ when communicating about construction projects and traffic impacts. This weekend’s schedule for concrete repairs on Interstate 270 north between Easton and State Route 161 has been scrubbed due to rain in the forecast.
Instead of multiple lane closures on I-270 north all weekend long, the work will wrap up Saturday night. That means no lane closures Sunday into Monday morning.
Here is the schedule, WEATHER PERMITTING:
FRIDAY, May 19, 2017- SATURDAY, MAY 20, 2017
8 PM: I-270NB reduced to two lanes between Easton Way & Sunbury Road
9 PM: I-270NB reduced to one lane between Easton Way & Sunbury Road
11 AM Saturday: I-270NB reduced to two lanes between Easton Way & Sunbury Road
9 PM Saturday: All lanes open to traffic
The work on I-270 north will not be re-scheduled next weekend because of Memorial Day and higher traffic volumes. ODOT will provide advance notification when a full weekend of work is scheduled.
These concrete repairs are part of a $14 million project that is widening the I-670/270 interchange as well as raising the Goshen Bridge over I-270. The entire project is expected to be complete this fall.
