SR 29 to close at I-70 for 30 days
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9
State Route 29 (NEW) – Beginning September 9, SR 29 will close at I-70 for 30 days to allow crews to complete work on the new roundabout at the west interchange. Two ramps will also close: I-70 west to SR 29 and SR 29 to I-70 west.
Detours will be posted. See map below.
SR 29 west detour: US 40 west to US 42 north to SR 29.
SR 29 east detour: US 42 south to I-70 east to SR 29.
I-70 west ramp to SR 29 east: I-70 west to US 42 south to I-70 east to SR 29 east.
I-70 west ramp to SR 29 west: I-70 west to US 42 north to SR 29.
To access I-70 west from north of I-70: US 42 south to I-70.
To access I-70 west from south of I-70: US 40 west to US 42 north to I-70.
SR 29 will remain open between Snyder Lane and US 42. The ramps from I-70 east to SR 29 and from SR 29 to I-70 east will also remain open.
The $3.9 million project began in May to construct a roundabout on SR 29 at the I-70 west ramps to improve traffic flow and safety. It is expected to be complete in June of 2014.
