Bridge Replacement at the Halfway Point
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4
State Route 31 – (NEW) So much progress
has been made on the State Route 31 bridge over US 33, the contractor is ready
to switch traffic onto the new half of the bridge so crews can get started on
the western portion.
SR 31 will still be reduced to one
lane in each direction over US 33, but starting at 6 PM Friday both directions of traffic will be traveling in the northbound lanes, instead of the
southbound lanes where drivers have been since the project began in August.
The temporary traffic signals will
remain in place at the exit ramps to help traffic flow.
Because there are fewer travel
lanes on SR 31, motorists should expect delays and build in extra time for
The $2.2 million project to replace
this 49 year old bridge is expected to be complete by June 30, 2017, weather
