The following work is planned in the Franklin County area on the specified dates and times. All work is weather dependent; it may be postponed or cancelled without prior notice.
US 62 to Close Temporarily for Bridge Replacement
MONDAY, JULY 8
US Route 62 (Northeast Side) – (NEW) US 62 will close Monday, July 8 between Tippet Road and Walnut Street in New Albany for 45 days. The closure is necessary to replace the bridge over Blacklick Creek in Franklin County.
The signed detour will be US 62 to SR 37 to SR 310 to SR 161 to US 62 or reverse.
Per contract, the work must be completed and the road open in 45 days. There is $2,000 a day disincentive that the contractor must pay if the road is not open in the specified time.
There is another ODOT project that also begins on US Route 62 on July 8. This project will resurface 10 miles of US 62 from the Franklin/Licking County Line through Johnstown.
During the resurfacing work, one-lane of two-way traffic will be maintained on US 62 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
