Weather delays traffic switch to new ramps
New ramps to open at Grove City interchange Thursday
(COLUMBUS) – (NEW) Due to weather, The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will wait until Thursday to switch traffic to the new ramps at the I-71/SR 665 interchange in Grove City.
Beginning Thursday, weather permitting, motorists on I-71 south exiting at SR 665 will use the new ramp and traffic signals that split SR 665 traffic so westbound and eastbound drivers are not waiting at the same traffic signal.
SR 665 drivers will also use newly installed traffic signals and a new ramp to access I-71 north. Both directions on SR 665 will have designated turn lanes to enter the interstate and will not be sharing lanes with through traffic.
The new ramps will allow the interchange to accommodate more vehicles without compromising safety.
Construction began last year on the $22 million dollar project that will create a single point urban interchange at I-71/SR 665 similar to the I-270 and Sawmill Road interchange. The project is expected to be completed next summer.
